Notice at 3:39, Geoff says, "Majorize!" The song up to that point had been in a minor key, then after Geoff says that, J.None sings his verse in a major key. Then Geoff says, "Bring it back!" and the song goes back to the minor key. That change to major is not in the original 'Bang!' by AJR. Totally a Voiceplay addition (plus a lot of fun)....
Their newest release was last week. It's called "I Can't Make You Love Me" and it is gorgeous. My personal favorite of theirs although I've never heard a bad song from them.

They put a ton of info in their descriptions if you ever wanted to see what everyone does : ) Layne Stein the beatboxer explained in an interview on the channel “The Charasmatic Voice” and Geoff Castellucci the bass explained on a video on his own channel called “How I Arrange Music for Voiceplay” that the two of them typically take turns doing their arrangements(although Eli and J can arrange/have arranged too) and whoever the main arranger is will make a rough arrangement send it to everyone for input, personalize it/work it out a few times, and then the arranger will either sing or use an instrument to play everyone’s part, and they’ll make rehearsal tracks with everyone’s part in one headphone and only one person’s part in the other! Then it’s off to everything else!
This one was Layne on the arrangement and video with additional lead vocal arrangement by Hannah Juliano(who typically helps them arrange female vocals) and “special crazy riff arrangement” by J.None 😋 Their highest tenor Earl Elkins left last year (🙁) so they’ve been having a lot of guests on recently.
I saw you were weirded out by one of Geoff’s notes 😂 (and who wouldn’t be) He has videos on a few techniques for singing low if you were curious, I saw you also react to Home Free, Tim taught Geoff how to do growl notes : ) Tim is the best I’ve seen at those, and Geoff is completely insane with subharmonic notes.
I want to hear Geoff and Tim together.
They are still searching for a permanent 5th member. DeeJay Young went back to doing a traveling tour of Hamilton. Cesar De La Rosa joined in July of last year. I do want to see them live and meet them. Geoff is my favorite. He's hot and his deep voice. Mostly Layne Stein (Beatboxer) and Geoff Castellucci (bass) alternate on song arrangement and video direction, but they all contribute to getting video set together.
Back in 2014, they were on the Sing-Off at the same time as Home Free and maybe Pentatonix. One of the songs I really enjoy is "Play That Funky Music" with Emoni Wilkins (was in VP's Wicked along with Rachel Potter). They also went on the Spin-Off tour and did one called Road Trip (do the one is 9.2 million views) which is a hoot. Both of these are live performances and while we can't go back in time to see it personally you can get an idea of what it would be like to see them in person. I hope you do these because I will be right with you watching them again. Another if you love Home Free is Survivors: Zombies vs Hillbillies done just after the Sing-Off.

Love to see that you are exploring more different music apart from your genre. Geoff Castellucci is incredible. He is the responsible for most of the main arrangements of their music. Come explore more Australian music. I know that you have featured Midnight Oil.
