The free throw disparity was awful I think Coach TSpoon needs to call the main offices about these ridicules calls and none calls on the refs

I think the team is just mentally and physically gassed. We might benefit a lot from the break that’s about to come up. They haven’t been playing the same since that Seattle game. Not to mention the somewhat drama on social media after the last game against the Liberty with the decisions that were made with the rotations. I was really disappointed seeing so many disrespectful and hateful comments. A lot of people have to remember this is basically a brand new team and coach. Give them some time and GRACE please 🙏

I don’t understand why Izzy was on the bench for the 2nd half. We need to keep Michaela on the floor. But the refs really did suck extra today. There were a few times Angel got fouled but the refs didn’t call it. It’s frustrating.
She has to play less minutes so Reese can get the double double,She will get back in the rotation now.
It was Onyenwere who was taking Harrison’s minutes in this game because she had the hot hand. Angel Reese sat for about half of the fourth quarter in foul trouble.
That is a lie Reese got her double doubles with Milla, with Izzy , with A Will the coach is not keeping people out the way for Reese. That is BS. The refs IMO got heat the last game with the foul that was called at the end of the game Thursday that’s why I think the didnt give Reese not one foul🤷🏽♀️

I'm sorry, but tspoon coaching IQ isn't good. She never calls timeout when the opposing teams go on runs. Her substitution/rotations messes up her team momentum. I think she would be better as an assistant coach instead of head coach.

You don't care when the calls go your way against any other team. Sky got too full of themselves.
Refs didn't make Reese go 3/13 from the field. 4 of her shots hit the bottom of the rim. That's what ended her streak. Refs aren't there to help her out. Maybe one call she didn't get, 2 earlier against her that were missed.

The Officiating was Azz for sure. There was a 4:1 Free throws made discrepancy last game. I'm sure today it was no different. Nonetheless: It has to be said: The guards for Chicago are straight up azz. They cannot feed the post to save their life. They also can't drive to the lane and pass off to the offensive players waiting for the ball. And when it comes to defense. Their guards, can't stop the ball. When they can't, teams like the Liberty work the ball around for 3 pointers. Coach Spoon needs to get it together as well, as The Sky can't seem to stop anyone when they make runs. SMH

I hear ya. But if the guards aren't good post feeders, then can they at least know how to pass off when they get into the lane. Except for Carter on occasion, most of them don't. And if they don't know how to do that, then it's up to the coach to run pick and roll, and other motion, to get back door cuts, etc., players shaking off defenders moving toward the basket.But Oh well.

I've been trying to find strengths in this team, to see what they can expound on, but the roster is just so freaking thin.
They need to be on the lookout for anyone on a waiver that can shoot.
I know its a rebuild year, but there is just not enough substance to work with yet

Cardoso is realistically their best player simply because she’s literally the only true C on the team everybody else is 6’3 and down the team only has 2 good guards mabrey and Carter that’s it Reese is the only good consistent PF on the team and on top that you have a brand new coach to wnba they need a lot more talent on this team I’m very surprised they even in playoff contention
Michaela Onyenwere is looking promising but we have to see after a few more games if she’s consistent or another Izzy

When she shoots I hold my breath wondering if it will be a hit or miss. Carter is good but today she was off and looked fatigued. Sky definitely need some shooters who are consistent. The break might be good for them. Cause they got a tough close out. I too as someone posted didn't expect them to be in the 8th spot for playoffs. This was hard to watch. Not because of the loss. You win some and lose some but the obvious no calls and lopsided calls is something I’ve never seen in the NBA or WNBA.

It’s definitely a shock to Angel that she can be hammered and knocked in the head with no calls. These are the calls she received in college. She has to adjust to the refs “letting the game be physical” on one end and not the other. She also has to adjust to not expecting the free throws and keep that jumper in her back pocket.

Sound quality needs improving
T Spoon needs some assistance with rotating players and making plays for her starters. Why are you sitting Chennedy? Why is Izzy getting more minutes than Chennedy( I could care less about Izzy' flow). Why are the guards not passing to Angel and Kamilla? Why when we are down the starters are not the staples on the floor? Why didn't Lindsay pass it to Angel in the final seconds? T-Spoon does not challenge calls or advocates for her players who are fouled indiscriminately, why? There are so many unanswered questions.
I hope coach spoon is sending these games to the w. The foul discrepancies don’t add up. How did New York shoot 30+ 3’s but still get 10 more free throws than the sky but our game is in the paint ? How many times was jj allowed to travel in this game alone? Something has to be done.

Kamilla is a vastly superior player compared to AR. She needs more minutes and touches. At SC she was a beast in the paint and usually owned AR when they played LSU. Coach, she deserves better! AR is all hype and drama.

No she did not Reese outscored her both games and either out rebounded her or got the same amount of Cardoso. AR averages were better in every cat in college except blocks. Cardoso was like 12pts 9 Rebs last season and the season before that it was 9.8 and 10. AR was like 18 and 13. Cardoso is just taller.
Angel only played 2 more minutes than Kamilla (36 mins vs. 34 mins). No disrespect to Kamilla, but Angel out-scored, out-rebounded and out-hustled her... as usual.

If the sky wants to win going forward, they need 3 and D players to surround the post game of Reese and kamilla. The team has too many players who are at the best attacking the paint.
This makes the team offense lack space and congested and thus easy to defend.
They also need guards who are threat offensively, Allen facilitation doesn't scare opponents because she is not an offensive threat. And she needs to do better defensively because opposition guards are having a Field day scoring against her and other guards and she can't even nullify their scoring by scoring too.
Teams are packing the lane the guards need drive more Kamilla & Reese need to shot more midrange shots. They're rookies its just takes time Chicago Sky is my official WNBA team

The Sky is a terrible defensive team. I thought the team was supposed to assume the coach's identity. Again, the coach is more of a cheerleader versus an XO tactician who can devise a game plan.

Kamilla played for 34mins ended up with 5 boards & 6pts - just not acceptable. Those of us who've been calling for more playing time look stupid right now.
Because she can’t create anything if they’re not feeding her and then she allows the ball to slip through her hands too much. There’s no reason why she shouldn’t be averaging 15+ points a game.

Every1 is saying what CHI lacks. Every team has strength & weaknesses & none are going 2 be perfect. If NY lost ppl would be saying getting out rebounded 41-28 cost them the game. The Sky have bigs/ rebounding & a nuclear guard that enable them 2 compete w any1 most nights. That's why despite those advantages, the games are being officiated the way they are as of late in view of the playoff/ ROY race. This is by design. If CHI was so bad there wouldn't be need 4 obvious interference. You can look up & down any other box score & you won't see 7 & 4 free throw attempts. NY's largest margin of victory is by 36 twice against the same team. That team still managed 2 shoot 11 & 22 FTs.

Sky missed a lot of open shots, and blew some defensive coverages, they aren't without fault, but the officials did them dirty. They were going on consecutive horrible call runs. Missed calls and phantom fouls. Game was poorly officiated.
I need to see the Sky stick to their guns, through the fire. Not enough inside outside action. Ball sticking to the guards, and they don't really understand entry passing angles. Angel was too rushed today, missed a few bunnies. Chennedy being benched wasn't it, maybe try her a point guard some so she isn't up against 6'3+ defenders all night. PG is clearly the weakest position. Try your best scorer there and play bigger. They show flashes of being a solid team, but they have pitiful lulls that knocks them out of games.
Overall it was a loss to the best team in the league with really good bigs to nullify Sky's biggest strength, which is paint play. Use it as a stepping stone to success. Aces not gonna be any easier going into the Olympic break. Get those hard hats ready.

“Be like everyone else” that should not be in your mouth. Your team needs DEVELOPMENT. When you compete with teams that have defense and offensive, then what are you going to say? Improve your jump shots (especially these, some worse in the league) and improve the 3 point line, does not matter if you copy others, you need offense.
Development comes slowly. This wasn’t the best game the sky played. i would like to see some hustle in transition. More up tempo. Today they seemed slow.
There was no way that they were winning that game with Chennedy Carter sitting on the bench for most of the game and only scoring seven points. Beyond that the offense just looked out of sync a lot of the time, and the officiating was awful. They were blatantly biased against the Sky.

@@DonKJB neither Reese or Cardoso has had a break in a year! Last year they were working out for the season to start in November! They both went into post season play, played until the elite 8 and championship and the draft was the following week! Not making excuses, but they’re exhausted. Now Reese starts work for the All Star game Monday! Reese is, however, she never tires of putting in the work! She doesn’t care about records; she cares about her team and winning. I can name a couple of veterans that we should replace, but that’s not my call! Thank God Mabrey showed up today; that’s not always the case!

She played team ball the whole game. She had assists and set picks. She also had two steals and two blocks, I believe. At the end she tried to score, so what. She thought of the team all game. I don’t mind the last minute try, especially when there was no chance for the win.
I will say this though, I think Angel is injured. She’s running different, and not quite as explosive as she has been. She may have sore knees or an ankle strain or something.

She shoots flat footed, has zero technique and zero footwork. She just has an ability to muscle up shots, though they are more hoists than targeted shots. Carter is providing as many points as Copper did last year. Mabrey knocked down threes in the last game.

Cannot take down the number 1 team in the league with their style of play and performances overall. They (sky) have not really developed much in the past 8 games. Their shooting in the paint is horrible, some worse in the league and that’s easy buckets.
