I just watched this movie thanks to Netflix, and omg I'm in love with Peter!! He's just so dreamy and lovely. He's sweet, gentle, polite, and beautiful. My favorite thing about him is, every time he brings up someone he thinks Tom doesn't know, he makes sure to pause and update Tom so Tom can keep up in the convos. Like when he told Tom they spent Christmas at Meredith's... or when he explained that they ran into Meredith at the concert... he's always so considerate and well-mannered.
I loved Peter so much the first time I saw this movie! He was only ever a minor character in the books if I remember correctly, but the screenwriters and Jack Davenport did such a wonderful job of fleshing him out and making him such a warm, dashing, stunning character!

Jack was PERFECT in this role. Obviously has a deep personality and sensitivity. The end of this movie was heartbreaking. One of the best films I’ve seen in a long time except Jude Law wasn’t very convincing supposedly being charming and captivating. 🙄. He’s unconvincing but the movie was so well written and the cast so talented his miscasting didn’t harm it too much.
Man, this role must have been nearly impossible to cast - someone who's showing up after JUDE LAW but still has to seem like just as powerful a love interest to the audience, while being nothing like Dickie. They nailed it with Davenport.
Peter wasn’t straight let’s be honest. And Peter also liked the finer things in life and culture , he wasn’t exactly mass market mainstream pop music fast food kinda guy.
@you’re right. I guess i mean if Tom wasn’t evil - which of course he was. But in an ideal world, if Tom didn’t have so many demons, maybe they could have had a nice life together ❤
