In this video, I am checking out Travel in Stygian by Iced Earth to see if I think it sucks, or if it will make it to my playlist! (Recorded July 2019)
The thematic inspiration for the song is drawn from Greek mythology, specifically focusing on the primordial underworld goddess Stygia/Styx, who personifies the river of Hades. I believe the song explores the concept of someone who is in agony and he fears to be in Tartarus, a special place reserved for the evil and the wicked, because they lead a life of vanity and dishonor. Ancient Greeks were known for their warrior culture, and they believed that heroic warriors and virtuous individuals ascended to the Elysian Fields, while the wicked were condemned to Tartarus. Both realms existed within Hades.
I am quite impressed by this live performance. Just discovered this thanks to you.

Okay :)
Thank you! For
Your reaction! 🔥🔥😈
You're welcome :)
One of the best live LPs ever for me. Shame Jon went nuts... I would check out Dante's Inferno or The Path that I Choose from the same LP.
:)
