Great video. I looked at a 81 380SL today and absolutely fell in love with it. It made me feel a way that no car quite has before. Truly special. I'll be purchasing it later this week and can't wait.
EricDavidson17 just check the timing chain to make sure it has been converted to a double chain. 81-83 380SL's had an issue where the single row timing chain would snap. If it doesn't have this you must walk away because if is very expensive to convert to the durable double row chain. Other than that I know exactly what you mean! SL is an exceptional car.

351,000+ miles! Wow! My '85 has 92,000 so I think I have a friend for life! (I work on a cruise ship and only drive about 2000 miles a year.
351,000 kilometers is equal to approximately 218,000 miles on the car.
For a 34 year old car it sounds like a new car.

LOL...every time I hear that engine rev I think of Sharon Stone ramming Bob DeNiro's Cadillac "Eldorado" and tearing the crap out of it during one of their divorce meltdown scenes in the film Casino. This was a great demonstration of just how far American cars had fallen by the 1980s vs. the 1950s when you could buy a Harley Earl-penned Eldorado.

Where did you get that license plate frame? I have the same one on my 1985 380SL. But then I do live a bit closer to Pacific Motors than you apparently do. In fact I was about a block from their shop today while in Santa Monica.
Tony Martin - the owner is a good friend of mine. I have been his customer for years.
