Eddie Jones was great in Return to Me. The movie would not have been the same without the four old guys who also included Robert Loggia, and Carol O'Connor. They are all gone now. RIP.
@@Pinkranger87I own the DVD. It's the go to for my wife, and I to chill, and rewatch a good movie. Though she always starts it after the accident as she hates that part. Greatest singer? Dead, or alive?
That's the question we should all ask ourselves when we consider entering into marriage. Even though I'm single, I fully understand marriage isn't just vows, but an active partnership that has to be worked on every day. And that when considering it, it's not just you, but your future partner as well. Are you BOTH ready and willing?
@@vgg31 I don't know about that. John Schneider played a very convincing Johnathan Kent. Their was a father figure vibe to him that resonated with audiences.
One of the best moments in this show was in the "Tempus Fugitive" episode, when Lois was angry with Clark after Tempus told her that Clark was Superman. Clark was telling her how bad it made him feel with Lois fawning over Superman, while completely ignoring Clark. Lois said " That's ridiculous, you ARE Superman." Clark told her "No, Lois, Superman is what I can do. Clark is who I am." In the entire history of Superman, that was the best explanation of the duality.
That was the beauty of this show for me--that it really wasn't about Superman, at least in the first couple of years. It was about Clark's life, and Superman was just a part of who he was. But the emphasis was on Clark as a person. It was a more adult way of telling the story, and it was more of a romance than an action/adventure show. Of course, in the latter part of the show the network asked them to switch the emphasis and it became more about superman and more cartoonish. That's when I lost interest.
@@PerthTowne yeah it was clark and lois side that worked, they didnt have budget and cgi at that time to do proper superman imo on tv which is why they butchered alot of the villians. bt the first two seasons worked well then it started go down hill, season 4 was bad lol
I love that Lois and Martha had such a great relationship. Martha loved Lois for loving her son and because her son loved Lois so much. She understood that Lois was her son`s happiness. And Lois loved Martha because she understood just how important she was in the life of the man she loved. Both understood each other so well because they loved the same man- in different ways. Daughter-in-law/Mother-in-law relationships should always be that way. The producers did a great job in this scene.
Yeah, its similar too the comics at the time. Clark wanted Lois too love him for him, not Superman. Take aways Superman's powers and he's human. Thats what the producers saw in the series, and what the artists did with him in the 90s
Back when all of the comics and other media outlets were working together to form an extensive narrative. The “Death Of Superman” storyline in the comics only exists because the comics writers got ahead of L&C when it came to the wedding of Lois and Clark, and there was a massive disagreement where the comic writers literally said to each other: “Let’s just kill him!”
I've been watching clips of L&C for a couple of days...the show may have Superman as a main character but it is really about loving each other, in all it's forms. L&C is about relationships that grow and blossom.
He wasn't my favourite superman but he is my favourite Clark Kent, outside of the comics most people's idea of Clark was a wimpy milk toast, but dean Cain showed that Clark could be a person lois could actually respect a d could hold his own and even best her on occasion.
These were my favorite version of the Kents. I love Smallville Kents as well, but these two are so genuine and believable as just real people who happen to be wholesome and hard workers. It's really believable.
Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher are my favorite live action Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The new Lois and Clark on the cw show seem to have taken a few cues from this show to show their dynamic and the harsh reality that they have to deal with daily. I love both shows better than the movies because the movies don't show Superman like that.
They absolutely have the best chemistry. Lois always said she's a 90s woman, and boy was she right. Strong women before it was cool. They should consider a new Superman show that focuses more on CLOIS and less on other Kryptonians or that multiverse crap.
always adored this moment :D partly because Jonathan and Martha are freakin amazing (no shock that Clark turned out as he did), but mostly because that exactly what ive always wanted to say to Lois myself whenever she got all upset about the "lies and secrets." always drove me nuts that she had no problem doing it herself, but went bananas when it was turned on her. but really, thats not something you just throw out in casual conversation... "hey, guess what? im Superman." yeah... no. and ya know, he probably wouldve felt comfortable telling her a lot sooner if she hadnt had such a blinding crush on the superhero while stubbornly refusing any idea of a romantic attachment to the man himself *face-palm* anyway, awesome post! =^_^=
+AshErika Michaela I always felt that the Kents finding him was no accident. The kind of parents one would need when you're a child that has unlimited potential.
The WHOLE reason for a secret ID is to protect those that you love from those who would seek to harm those same loved ones. Lois didn't fall off the baby cart yesterday-as a reporter she trained herself to be observant in all things and one of those signs that used to connect CK to Superman, was the fact that he always held her face in the same way, whether as CK or Superman.
My wife and I have never agreed about this show. She doesn't like it because she says it isn't true to the comics (which I never read - my love of Superman began with Christopher Reeves movies). But to me this series brought another side to Superman. The movies were particularly about Superman for the most part. This series brought out more of Clark, which I always wanted the movies to do but never really had a chance. I only wish we'd been able to see them as parents, even if was for only a season or two. And the fact is, any movie that becomes a series is bound to be different - that's almost unavoidable.
No one can equal what this show, this cast created..the TRUE & Accurate representation of "Superman " mythos...Tom Welling did EXTREMELY well as "superboy" & Erica Durance DID equal Terri Hatcher lois lane but Dean Cain will NEVER be equaled as Superman/Clark Kent

Clana fans like that made me laugh so hard lol
Gargouenzene I agree with everything you initially posted here. However, weren’t you just a little worried when Lois Lane showed up in Season 4 of Smallville? I was. (I got over it pretty quickly). And Lois Lane never replaced Lana Lang in the show. Lana wasn’t gone until Season 7 (with appearances in Season 8).
People that say this show Is dumb never pay attention to these scenes. They always pay attention to the bad CGI effects. There was a reason this show was on for 4 seasons. The reason the show had bad effects is because they stayed in financial trouble and were given the budget of an after school special and the effects that came out of that are amazing in itself for the extremely low budget that they had to work with.
This exactly. I've never understood people who watch older TV shows/movies and complain about the special effects anyway. What do you watch for - the story or the effects? One of the reasons so many modern movies are awful is because of how big the special effects budget is. They get so preoccupied with creating spectacle that they neglect the characters and the story. Worse, they often half-ass the writing and expect to compensate with special effects. Who cares how awesome a movie looks if the script is bad?

Maybe Terri Hatcher is the best Lois Lane out of the Actresses who plays her. However I also like Erica Durance. Every other character in Smallville is 1 million times better. This show was trash by the 3rd Season. While Smallville went trash after Lex Luthor was gone from the show. Comparing the 1st 4 Seasons each. Smallville is a lot better.
You don't have Perry White except for one episode. The Jimmy Olsen isn't the real Jimmy Olsen, Lana Lang was annoying. I'd say Terri and Erica are 1 and 1A. They're both great Loises. The Kents of Smallville were great raising the younger Clark, the Kents of Lois and Clark were great being there for the adult Clark. Both Dean Cain and Tom Welling were awesome as Clark.
