  • In this video I have this honda Jazz 2006 automatic 1.4 petrol which has been giving me a little issue when its under load and basically it hamps and jerks a bit when picking up seed. So i decided to change the spark plugs and, this model actually has 8 spark plugs.
    The jerking humping has been sorted by changing the plugs, felt like something was wrong with the gearbox.
    Am using NGK plugs and now that the job is finish I can say the the hamping behavior has been sorted.
    You will need a 10mm socket and an M10 spark plug socket for this job.

    Thanks my brother. Great vid with bonus use of magnet and long nose pliers! We've all been there. I'm going to see about doing this on my little Jazz myself as the main dealer who diagnosed the issue wants c500GBP to change the rear ones..

      @@DaringBeefcake they claimed I needed to change all four rear coil packs. Simple spark plug change has worked 😀

    I have changed my spark plugs yesterday with Denso K20TT nickel new version of it.The old spark plugs were NGK i think iridium and immediately i noticed some decrease in performance but the car now runs smoother and changing the gears is like butter.
    My question is:Are Denso k20tt nickel suitable for this honda?
    I know that NGK are better but i could not afford them.
    Thanks 👍

      I think Denso are often used on Japanese cars I often see them as fitted originally to the engines and last a long time. I believe it should be just fine.

    Very helpful video, thanks. Btw, do know if this engine has MAF or only MAP sensor? I can't find MAF. MAP is located over 4th back spark plug. Cheers. S

    Hi. Thanks for the informational video. Did spark replacement do the job ? I had to replace the coils more than once in mine. After jerking was intolerable, a warning light came up. Kept failing after a few Kms until I fitted some used but original coils.

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes the spark plug replacement cured my problem. coils can of course cause the same issue and yes its better to use genuine ones even if they are second hand, new genuine are expensive but technically don't often fail which is why second hand one should be ok..

    Hi,are the ignition coils all the same? Or they are different types? Cause im thinking to change all of 8 of mine by myself..
    Is it enough to buy just 8 of 1 type to change them all?

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 2 lety +1

      I think so, all of them should be the same, but if you buy a set of 8 the supplier should get what you need.

    Thank you for what you offer but I have a question why it contains eight spark plugs what is the reason

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před rokem +2

      Well a question to the manufacturer really, however two spark plugs will burn fuel injected into the cylinder in a much more efficient way and therefore having better output power and less fuel wasted…

      The i-DSI engine is particularly noted for its efficient fuel combustion. It gives high torque at low-to-mid engine speed range.

    I am needing to do this with my Honda jazz that thinks it’s a V8 with all those plugs and coils haha… do the ignition coils need to be a specific brand?

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před 2 lety

      😂 yeah pretending to be a v8. I don’t think ignition coils need to be of a specific brand as long as they are made for the car make and model, it should be fine. Thought better to get a good brand so they can be as good as the ones fitted originally.

    How are the coils and plugs numbered

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  Před rokem

      do you mean the firing order or which is cylinder 1, cylinder one is located to the left and then 2 3 and 4 which is on the side of the gearbox.

      Hi am sorry I no longer have the car, or the old plugs. Otherwise I would have measured it. I’ll pay attention next time and give the size of the plugs.
