Metro North & Amtrak Evening Rush at Riverdale FT: 201, 208, 211, 217 Private Cars, SAAHCs & More!

Hey Everyone! On Tuesday, April 9th I headed to Riverdale on the Metro North Hudson Line to catch private cars on Amtrak Empire Service Train #284 (The "Berlin" & "Blue Ridge Club") & Amtrak Ethan Allen Express #290 (The "Francis L. Suter" & "Colonial Crafts") that we're coming back from excursions that took passengers to see the Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8th. I also hoped to catch the two remaining Metro North Heritage Units I hadn't caught yet, which were P32AC-DM #211 (The New York Central Heritage Unit) & P32AC-DM #217 (Penn Central Heritage Unit). I was in luck as I ended up catching all four of the Metro North 40th Anniversary Heritage Units and 3 of the four New Haven Heritage units. I also got many horn salutes & horn shows, including two SAAHCs.

Thanks! This was probably my best Railfanning Day on the Hudson Line so far. Got to see seven out of the 8 Metro North Heritage units, 4 private cars, many horn salutes and good weather!

W catches, especially that you got all four 40th anniversary heritage units, you are so lucky last week metro north sent their heritage units up the Danbury branch but i unfortunately missed them 😢

Nice, hopefully you will get to see Metro North sometime in the near future! I recommend the Hudson line as it provides a good mix of Electric & Diseal Rolling stick, plus Amtrak.
