I like how they power scaled him to show where he's at exactly. Still defeating a guardian to the gates like that is a huge step up, and he's bound to get even more broken. Shit is exciting
And what i think alot of people misunderstand is that, it isn't just an S class boss, it's an S class boss...on his own, that's the impressive part more than anything.

I ended up being a manhwa reader and knew what happened, and I still wanted him to use it.
It's on purpose that he's entering these dungeons while being ill prepared to increase the suspense of the audience because of having to fight for his life, the smart thing to do would be to level up, they do this for our entertainment
you gotta admit he does have a bit of an arrogant streak, though. Not that it hasn't helped keep him alive, of course.
He's like that type of gamer who sees something ten levels above him, look it up and down like he's a health inspector in a strip mall buffet restaurant, and go "I can take him. I just need to get that hit in." He does it, but holy shit does he ever lean on that 25% chance he'd survive.

Rank A and S hunters are rare. Loosing a few can mean destruction of a country. Even tho the show hasn't emphasized it, dungeon breaks are catastrophic. Especially if the gates are A and God forbid an S rank. Now you can see why dudes hrother is so relax.
Just some information (Non-spoilers): The Gate Keeper Cerberus was between top B-rank and low A-rank and it was just the guard dog of the entire Dungeon.
Also here, Jin Woo realized two things about the system. 1) being that the system wants to keep him alive, healthy through the blessing which grants him immunity to status debufs and increased regeneration and 2) it wants him to be strong as well through him killing actual humans, messing with his mental. Almost as if to see if he is able to do something so drastic. Which begs the question, why does system want Jin woo to be strong and well and what does it gain out of it? And what is the meaning behind the system itself. What is it? Where did it come from? Can’t wait for more episodes as A-1 Pictures is truly cooking big time with this series!

Okay, not sure where the B rank idea has come from in so many comment sections, but the makers of the webtoon and light novel both confirmed that Cerberus was A rank, and not low A. SJW literally only beat it while being low B rank himself because of luck, his buff against beast monsters, the poison he could take with no downsides, and his full recovery.

Something the show didn't really mention was that the Blessed Box said it would give him something he "wanted" while the Cursed Box would give him something he "needed." Jinwoo guessed later that it would have taken him to the Demon's Castle regardless, and it was just an illusion of choice.
That gets mentioned a bit later

I’m ngl, I’m still in the mix about how I feel about this episode, because they changed the arrangement of when he took Kasakas poison glands (he originally took it after drinking the beer), and then extended the fight.

In the manwa, after the status recovery, he twisted one neck of the ceberus, and the slit the eyes of others and kinda just.. won?
I like how they extended this fight and really showed you that he was outclassed, but still have mixed feelings about it.
Because it isn't adapting the manwha, it's adapting the light novel.

this episode was great they changed 2 things in a way that makes sense and made the fight so much better and brutal than the Manhwa was. The changes are when he drinks the snake venom and when he learns about the elixir of life.
In the Manhwa he drinks the venom right after he goes in his room learning about the detox and he learns about the elixir farther in the tower when he gets it but I dig the changes because they make sense to me.
First with the venom it makes more sense to finally take the risk when its a do or die moment since he would be fucked a bit if it didnt detox.
Second with the EoL showing it as a obtainable reward before he enters gives a nice motivation for going in before he levels up more since its to save his mother.

@@FnD4212 yeah the venom was always one of my big irks because going from detoxing beer to thinking "oh magical snake venom is fine now" was a hell of a leap. That and even with the return stone it was a weird risk to take without knowing the prize since if he got an s rank boss he could be killed before he can use the stone or the zone has an anti escape effect etc
