Oh god...
Hakkinen waving to Schumacher as he got lapped... the respect between these two was incredible.
i thought he flipped off msc
@@totallynotrod Nope, they were good friends since F3 days.
Pretty much Mika and Jenson were the only ones Schumacher respected on track for their talent.
Yea...they had ultimate respect for each other...
@@markmark5269 fernando and kimmi too, he prob. wouldn't admit it though.
Back in the days a driver who's car had a problem or was significantly slower was raising his hand out of the cockpit as a sign to warn other drivers that he's slower. I don't think Mika was waving to Michael as a "hello mate, well done", but more as a warning that he's got a problem.
Rain is expected for the race on Sunday, could be an absolute thriller
We could've gotten another look at leclerc vs verstappen if ferrari didn't fuck up this badly

0:47 The way they look at each other, they know it was a good race between them.
We need a movie about that rivalry just like the movie Rush

Ah, back in the day when Ross Brawn was in charge and Ferrari were known for their genius strategies...
How quick are you in changeable conditions?
Button: Yes
He is very quick in the varying weather conditions yet he isn't a rain master. He had given a lot of examples, and 2006 Hungaroring was probably one of his masterclass drives.
@@kohikappu, yeah, that's the thing. In outright rain on a drenched track, Michael had the field (with Alonso being a close second), but those intermediate conditions and transitional periods really brought out the best in Button.

That Hungary '14 from Alonso was one of the best I've ever seen, generally every drive from Alonso in hungary tbh

Lewis didn't let Alonso through denying Alonso a chance at a competitive time. Alonso retaliated and held Lewis in the pits. People often forget the first part of the story.
You say embarrassing moment, Alonso's face shows he was very happy 😂 I love Alonso so much more just for that smile
you pathetic.
I have to say, not a fan of Alonso, but that's the spirit! Do everything you can to stop your opponets
The battle between Senna and Piquet was the most beautiful in the history of this track
People forget how awesome Piquet's move on Senna in 1986 was. You could argue it is the greatest overtake in F1 history, because when do you ever see someone literally drifting past the greatest racing driver to have ever lived?
Hungary 1998 is probably my favorite race ever.
The tension and Michael what he did best. Qualifying lap after lap, fastest lap after fastest lap.
He was told on the radio "you have 15 laps to get 25 seconds" by tactical genius Brawn. And Michael's anwser was just "ok". Everyone else would have said he's on the limit. That's what seperates really good drivers from legends.
Sad, that that's not possible with today's cars and tyres.
Ron Dennis watches like he is going to kill someone of his drivers😂
Alonso:)
It was great watching it live and him charging down the pitlane to talk to one of Alonso's physios. James Allen telling Ted Kravitz to get after him was hilarious.
2:38 Is no one gonna talk about a freakin' Jaguar taking 2nd place off the start?
Mark Webber wasn’t too bad back then! “Not too bad for a number two driver!”
Webber was a damn good qualifier
Webber drove the wheels off the Jaguar in 2003 and 04, qualified second in Malaysia 04 as well
Another 10 moments to add to this after last weekend
Piquet literally drifted on purpose and flipped senna off while doing it. Underrated legend.
drifted on purpose??? you are so dumb it's unreal.
The greatest pass in F1.
You could have mentioned Piquet performed that outside line full opposite lock four wheel drift overtake one handed.....so he could flip off Senna with the other.
Greatest overtake in racing history, any category, including non automotive ones, EVER.
PERIOD.
Does anyone remember that Nelson flipped Ayrton while drifting - f1 will never be the same
7:33 This was in fact not the first time an arrows led a GP. I don't know if this was the first but arrows led laps in the 1981 United States West GP where Patrese led for quite a few laps. How F1 could get this wrong is beyond me.
They consistenly get facts wrong in their videos, it's pathetic really.
They just keep doing it. They claimed Austria 2014 was Williams’ first front row lockout since 1993. I don’t know who is in charge of their research. Is it the Americanisation of the product? F1 is a sport with a keen sense of its own history. Nostalgia has always been en vogue. Murray Walker got a lot of grief for mistakes that were often made at 200mph. This is just poor.
Adam Marsden Americans are arguably the best thing to ever happen to F1’s digital presence.
Derek Warwick also led a few laps in the 1989 Canadian Grand Prix in one of the previous opportunities to get that first victory for both Arrows and himself.
@@adammarsden4995 Yeah this americanisation is the worst, Im so nostalgic of Bernie. There was no content but at least there was no error. Making videos with footages of nearly 40 years ago is indeed just poor and show no respect for the history of this sport.
The 2006 Hungarian GP was incredible! The best race I, personally, have ever seen... You could not have written a more dramatic set of circumstances even if you wanted to.
- 1. Wet conditions, but by the end of the race the track was almost entirely dry
- 2. Alonso started 15th, and by lap 6 he was 4th, finding grip everywhere on the track (find the onboard, it is videogame stuff)
- 3. Button started 14th, and he too was giving a masterclass on how to drive in the wet
- 4. Alonso effectively was leading the GP when he pitted for dry tyres (came out 3rd), but his mechanics didn't put the front left tyre well, making him spin only 3 corners later and retiring
- 5. Schumacher was 6th, but way too slow, to the point where Heidfeld passed him, with contact, making him retire as well
- 6. De la Rosa, in his first drive for McLaren that season (Montoya had been sacked the race before I believe), ended up in 2nd place
- 7. Button won his maiden GP, with HONDA...

Let's be clear. Kimi had more pace than anyone and made up a lot of places in this race.
It was only because Mark Webber in the Jag, HELD UP THE ENTIRE FIELD in the early stages allowing Alonso to pull away. He wouldn't have won otherwise. Alonso was good in 2003, but Kimi was AMAZING that season.
