I am the care taker for my 91 year old mother and 55 year old disabled brother. I cannot tell you how many times you inspired me and reminded me that life is about the love and laughter that we share with each other while we are here. I used to care for my 89 year old mother but now she has had to go into a home as she is bed ridden now and has mild dementia and a week hart, but I visit her 5days a week to be with her and we always say “Everything is going to be ok!”, and I can at least now be the Son for her rather than a career 24/7

After she passed, it took awhile to not see myself in the “caregiver” role anymore. It becomes such a part of you that it takes awhile to return to “normal.” Your family are in my thoughts during this difficult and confusing time.

@@pinky567 it’s not hard when you’re bad at it. The caregivers for my great grandpa are bad at their job because they ask him (93) if he ate lunch/dinner yet and he hasn’t so they don’t give him any food because he told them he has ate because he’s so forgetful (he thinks he’s 114)
