That hit me hard too I just teared up wrote it down & found myself writing choose day😢 the Lord works in mysterious ways... So glad Grandma's funeral was on a Tuesday the world loves Grandma, Chris & the Family I remember the day when she asked Chris his name & when he said Chris Grandma replied Christopher Columbus & they both laughed as did I Grandma just loved to get her little jokes up in there that was a cute memorable moment, that day Chris slammed her phone down on the dresser Grandma was all like "Hey Brother Man" that gave me a good giggle oh what fun them two must of had at times my Grandmother was a jokester too peace, love & happiness to Chris & his loving Family God bless you all😇

I’m am very sorry for your loss. She was not only a grandma to you but to all of us. When I found I started crying because she reminded me of the word joy. I can’t imagine the pain you are feeling right now because she had the happiest spirit all the time. Rip to the grandma of the internet.

She lived a long happy life, she passed away happy too. I know its very hard to realize what has happened, I have been through it myself. But I promise she loves you even in heaven and is so grateful for you helping her even in her last days. You are a awesome person. And you showed it.

I got that same heart breaking call at 3am when my mom passed suddenly. She was 78 and still worked full time and drove her spicy mustang. She got sick and passed in 4 weeks. My sister and I are still missing her every day. But as you say I loved her for my entire 51 years of life so I’m blessed to have had that. You’re a better person for loving your grandma like you did.
Did it hit anyone else when Chris dad told him that grandma was scheduled to go home on Sunday but it just happened to be her heavenly home. ❤❤
I caught that, too. Sunday was the day Sweet Grandma went to her eternal Home.
It did me. Working in Hospice for the last 20 years of my career taught me that in many instances, Home met our heavenly home.

She had a day where she was doing all of those things and even knew who we all were, and then the next day she was gone. I truly believe God gives us that last good day to say goodbye. It happened with my grandfather as well. I'm sorry for your loss❤

I don't know if you realize that there are a million people that follow him and his grandmother. There are many of us that are mourning her death. Do you think you will change us? Do you think that we feel lesser because you think that God doesn't exist? I do wonder what was the purpose of the statement? Do you know what it is going to do? Thank you. I lost my father three years ago today from Covid and my grandmother 6 months ago to a car accident. I got out of church this morning and when all I wanted to do was cry and find something to distract myself and numb my mind. Your video popped up and the first thing you did was remind me that even when grieving God is bigger and better and has a plan. Praying for peace for you and your family.

As you are grateful for the last 8 years you got to spend in such close contact with your grandma, I have the same gratitude from her perspective as my daughter and her son have spent his entire life living with me. I totally agree! I’m sure it wasn’t a burden to you to take care of your beautiful wonderful grandma but it’s not anyone who has the compassion, selflessness, kindness and patience to dedicate your youth to caring for another person. I’m not exaggerating when I say you are so rare and have so much knowledge and wisdom to give the world. There are so many people that are in your situation that can’t handle it or abandon loved ones. I myself live with so much regret not being more involved in several of my loved ones’ care when they were sick with terminal illnesses, all because I was young and selfish. I and so many others could learn a lot from your experiences and views on compassion and love.

Thank you for taking the time to talk with us. Your grandma was so sweet, and I loved experiencing your relationship with her. You both impacted our lives in such a beautiful way. The grief is so great because the love was so great.
I lost my uncle around the same time. And right before his death he had a burst of energy and clarity. And that’s how we knew it was time. Thankfully hospice had given us a brochure that explained everything to expect. It happened fast for us. My cousin said something beautiful…he said
“When we share joy there is twice as much joy, when we share grief there’s only half as much grief. We are meant to share life with each other.”

"Grandma is everywhere" she truly is, and what a beautiful thing that is. Grandma is here, on the Canadian prairies nestled at the foothills of the rocky mountains. Where beautiful fields dip and stretch as far as the eye can see. In this home, where i would watch your videos and smile, because she was so cute, and the bond you shared with her was so pure. Grandma was here when i lost my grandfather after at home palliative care. You both gave me strength, something to smile about, and most importantly, the reminder that life is so precious. I lost my dad to Parkinson’s 8/2023. He is/was my hero, I watched how the disease slowly take its toll on him. At the end pneumonia took him. I’d watch grandma and see my dad. I’ll always remember her and my Tuesdays are now Chooseday. You will always be in my heart. God bless.
My dad passed away in 2021 of Parkinson’s and other complications of a stroke he had 3 years earlier. It is such a hard disease as it slowly steals so much from your loved ones. Whenever I see someone in a wheelchair or whenever I watched Grandma I remembered my daddy.

One adorable thing Grandma left behind is "Chooseday," which now has a new meaning for your family. I was very close to my grandparents. I am 76, so of course they have been gone a very long time, but they still kind of sit on my shoulder. I talk to them all the time, along with my parents. So, it's king of busy up on my shoulder. You and your family will find peace, in time, which is, of course, what Grandma would want. 💖

I wanted to say- I also was close to my grandmother (my grandfather is still alive) and two weeks after she died I had dreamt of her and it really felt like she came to me because she was wearing what she was buried in and was in all white (her dress and blazer are actually pink) it was so strange and upsetting but also happy and freeing after she told me she would watch over me throughout my life. I’m not sure if this has happened to you, but I believe God is real and I was given this interaction with my grandmother for closure. I still look to her for guidance much how similarly you talk to your grandparents and parents from time to time. Death isn’t the end, and in my short 30 years of life, I’m deeply grateful for God allowing me to live, and to love those I deem important to me.
Exactly. Choose day indeed has depth meaning. God timing is always right in His time for us. We are often times always difficult to accept on the process and impatient but that's our lesson and reminder that through hardship, struggles, pain and loss are the evidence from God that He does love us.

I don't think it was a coincidence that Tuesday was the next day available for a service to be held. I think Grandma planned the day of her services to be her favorite day. You should write a book. The life experiences you had being Grandma's caregiver could be so helpful to others beginning the same journey. It could also be a comfort for you and your family.
A book is a great idea if Chris wants to eventually write it.
And it is very therapeutic... so much he could not properly convey through video..
When my mother died I didn't cry right away. I broke down when December came, when I was in hurry to go to her room to see her and only to be greeted by the utter silence of the room with her empty bed. I cried so hard. Chris, just let yourself grieve any time you need to. On special days when you had a special moment with grandma, that is when it hits so hard on you. Just cry out loud, and you'll be fine later on.

It has been 7 years since my father passed. I still tear up & smile when I see his portrait. I talk to him every night & every now & then I cry so hard. I miss him so, but know he had a good life & he’s with me. Gramma will always be with you. Take it one day at a time. Gramma will let you know when & what is next. Reflect, journal your thoughts. What I can advice you is to write a book for all the experienced from this journey of your life. I’m also a Filipino living in Canada who works in a long term setting for seniors / dementia and I lost my husband 2 years ago and after that I lost my son and this journey I can relate how and where you’re coming from. I watch your channel almost everyday.

I was married for 25 years and had not spent one night apart. My wife had cancer and spent the last month of her life in the hospital, even then I stayed with her. I was not there when she passed, as everyone encouraged me to go to church. A good friend was with her while I was in church. The calmness and relief that you felt was God letting you know she was with him. I had that same feeling. It’s been almost 4 years and I go on with my life, but never forget the life I had with her. Both you and Grandma are an inspiration! You have a solid head and a good heart, use them to help others in all you do! God Bless!!

i lost my husband to cancer february 2020...we also kept to ourselves most of the time, it was us and our kids...the journey to coping with grief is very hard, you dont really move on because a part of us also passed on...we could only pray that we would be able to cope for the sake of those left behind...prayers for your family...🙏

Yes! I was with my mom in active stages of dying. My sister and I left to get something to eat, we called my brother to sit with her and she died before we got back. I believe she chose to die while I was gone. Don’t fret!

It is hard, but the fact that you leave room for God and your community to help grieve with you will help tremendously. Chris.....I worked in nursing homes and long term care for many, many years. It's a weird phenomenon, but, for some reason when a person is severely ill, they rally the day before they pass and start to look and feel better, eat better, and on and on. They even call it the death rally. I've witnessed it more times than I care to ever remember. But, it always looked to me that God was beginning to give them their peace in this world before they passed thru to the next. I just always saw it that way. Hopefully that gives you some peace of mind. Her glory started the whole day before she passed. For you and you family to bare witness. Just think how peaceful that was for her.

When I lost my mother 4 years ago, I too was relieved. My mother was also very independent. She did not like being taken care of in an assisted living place. I cried because I lost my mother, but I was happy that she was now in a place where she could be free. Having faith is one thing, asking faith for help, walking in faith not by sight is hard.

It's been 16 months since my mom passed. I was her caretaker. Chris, just ride the waves of grief and put no time limit on it. Talk it out as you are doing. Work through it. Eventually the sadness and pain will switch to positive memories with occasional grief bursts. Figure out your triggers. I still haven't reached the positive memories stage but am now having the grief bursts so I am close and definitely feel that I have worked through a lot. You are doing what you should do....go at your own pace. You and Grandma have been big blessings to me in helping me through my grief. Thank you for sharing her with us and for continuing to share your experience and grief with us. I have been grieving her too. I'm praying that you continue to honor her memories with us and I am hoping you make a memorial pin for us. She will always be my Grandma too. I love you all ❤. God bless you and bring you peace and hold you close as you go through your grief journey.

@@asbury201I respect that my Father past away his almost 79 years old and I was his youngest back then my age was 10 years old and from time to time I was grieving. Praying for his soul help me a lot. The whole prayer life calmed me. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and with X-Linked Dystonia Parkinsonism.

It is a natural feeling to grieve but it will slowly subside alkng the way, chris. When you do, keeping the good memories with grandma is all you can do. When you feel missing her presence, you can still talk to her, it's as if she still there. She may be gone physically but in spirit she is still with you guiding you.
I loved that lady❤. I know the pain you are feeling, grieving the loss of a loved one is never easy. Chris you are in deed a kind and good person. No doubt that you truly loved your grandma.
Grandma is probably saying "Thank you my Grandson. I love you and I am praying for you." You could probably write a book in her memory. I say- Thank you Chris for sharing her with us. You did a great job.
I'm so sorry. Sadly, the heartache gets worse before it gets better. Even when we know that their death is inevitable, it still catches us off guard. Ur very fortunate to have a large, loving family. That'll help. I loved watching ur videos. What I saw in them, was pure love ❤❤

I'm so glad they got to be buried together. I'm not religious. Never have been and never will be but I found peace in the sentiment.
I may lose my grandparents soon and due to personal reasons may not see them again until after they are passed. It brings me a lot of closure in a way even without having lost them yet.

My brother passed away from covid in 2021. He was 42. It took him quickly, but we had the same experience where his condition improved, and then he passed the next day. I was his caregiver as he had special needs, I provided respite care so my parents could go out once a week, but I spent way more time with him than that. Your dedication and love for her are evident, and love never dies. It continues even after they're gone. You are an amazing young man. ❤️
Chris sure is amazing. He’s an exceptional human being. I live with and care for my almost 97 yr old mother. I have what I now know is called “anticipatory grief”… but one thing my mother always tells me is that she believes when it’s your time, it’s your time. When your time comes, that’s when you go. We don’t know when that will be. But we all have our time to go. It’s so sad, but… yeah. Anyway. Chris has been so, so much of an inspiration as a role model for loving caregiving. God love that young man. 🥹

That's so sad, I'm sorry you lost your brother. I'm the guardian for my 31 year old niece. She has CP and Autism. My biggest fear is that I will outlive her and I also fear that she will outlive me because who will take care of her when I'm gone?! Caregivers really go through a lot. I was a caregiver also. You get so used to taking care of the person and establishing a routine. Then the routine was taken away and then there is an empty feeling once they're gone. God bless you Chris.
