The federation is demanding Khera's resignation due to his submission to the Supreme Court requesting an extension until June 2024 to provide information on electoral bonds, citing the time-consuming nature of the process. According to the federation, Khera's actions have tarnished the reputation of the bank, especially in light of the Supreme Court's remarks on the matter, despite Khera receiving an extension just before his retirement.
“This has resulted in damage to the image of the bank and has shaken the credibility of the bank on transparency and corporate governance and thus SBI Chairman should step down,” said Devidas Tuljapurkar, General Secretary, Maharashtra State Bank Employees Federation.
“It is not known as to whether he has taken this position at his own or has taken the board of Directors into confidence wherein government & RBI nominee also should clarify their position on record,” he said.

If the union also could help the SC get the complete data of the bonds , then it would be a better move. After all some of the union members must be involved in entering and preserving this data. It is not the Chairman alone who knows these things . There could be officers union people who also know this. At least the employees can stop SBI’s name being tarnished.

Employees federation is playing politics. They should put their own house in order and stop going to strike every now and then for flimsy ground to extract more and more benefits. Federation have no right to dictate how MD should act. All are shouting as if there were no political funding taking place. Electoral bonds at least make sure that the transaction is accounted for by the 10:58 corporate bodies in their balance sheets. This can always be audited. It is better than shelling out in the black through non banking channels.

All donations are 100% income tax exempted, so donors must have claimed exemption under section 88 GG and GGB of income tax act, so donors would have declared details of bonds and to whom they donated, even they would have produced bond receipts, so then all the details must be having with IT dept which they can provide within no time, supreme court should order Nirmala sitaraman to disclose all details.......... 😎

Employees Federation should ask for resignation of PM instead. Dinesh Khera, the chairman is set to comply the instructions of PMO.
We should understand that these very employee federations - be it employees association or the officers’ association members are also involved in collection and accounting of these bonds as it is not the Chairman who sits and enters the data. Now these very people are going after the Chairman - which is correct. But a better way to show their love for the country would have been to provide the data to the Court. The Chairman cannot hide the data by himself. Certainly he has involved some of the association members.
