"Heresy 2.0" is an arms race." True and real. When the IF dude chucks 2 Punishers, 3 Illiastus Predators, 10 Illiastus Support Guys, 20 Phalanx Warders and 10 Storm Shield Termies in Deepstrike at me in a "Fun and Casual game" and claims "its not that good bro". And half the IF players i know do that shit.
@@henrythe9th377 Neither is mine, i love my 1st ed Brick People. Those "Bad Apples" are in all armies, the majority just goes for Yellow. A RG player throwing 30 Dark Furies and 10 or more Deliverers at you are not any holier than them.
it's crazy, my friends and i are doing a last game of 40k this week where they face 10,000 points of my Necrons against their combined 10,000 point list of imperial and Tau forces before we start a escalation Crusade of Horus Heresy. I might be putting the game on CZcams for our local store club
Ferrus Manus is an absolute beast, leaving Fulgrim with one wound left, I loose one wound then get it back with it will not die, next turn fulgrim is overkilled with 15 wounds 😂😂😂
I regularly play games this sized ,I won't play under 5k a side ,this is were heresy gets really good and reactions aren't oppressive , also get to use titans on top of the 5k + lists ,it's the spectacle that makes massive games worth it , my table will take 8 to 10k aside depending on the army
Isn't "tuned" Raven Guard just hope for turn 1 and take 3x10 combi-volkite Mor Deythan in or not in Rhinos and then follows up with Dark Furies and Deliverers?
Hiya, soon to be new player here who is coming over from 40k (like 5-8 years ago) and Kings of War / Legions Imperialis a lot more recently. I'll admit I'm a little worried about my hobby level after hearing your thoughts on the matter, I'm not a good painter and whilst I'm doing my best to be cohesive my kitbashes are minor, not major. I've sort of walked in with my beloved Iron Warriors that I'm currently hammering through and I've got no idea if I've built a legion (7.5k points once completed, 6.9k currently assembled and being painted) that is overbearing or if I've made it soft and fluffy enough to be friendly. Do you guys have a guide or recommendations on what NOT to do in regards to list building with iron Warriors if I want to avoid being an accidental "that girl."
As long as proper effort is put in, people will be kind on your hobby. If you are clearly lazy that's a different story. As for not building a list that makes you "that girl" it's really just not spamming too many good units, keep your dreadnoughts to 1 per 1000 points, don't spam siege tyrants, don't take more than a single heavy support squad with lascannons, and really, if you do that, people won't have much to complain about!
@@TheOuterCircle Well, I thoroughly planned for the dreadnought department (by getting none) and instead went for Iron Circle which I hope aren't quite as egregious. Hard capping myself at no more than 10 Siege Tyrants / Dominators each and never having all of them on the field. And my Iron Havoks only have autocannons / heavy bolters. So seems like I managed to avoid the worst of the problems. But thank you for the advice nonetheless. As for hobby, I'm doing my best. Still need to get ahold of some basing supplies but I'm working my way through the Iron Warriors.
I have a lot of Plasma / Volkite / Conversion for my Dark Angels because #lore, and I never thought about it, but yes I can see how Salamanders would make the Plasma so bad against them.
On your last point about painting. I’m a full grown adult working two jobs at a minimum of 48 hours a week for my main job. We don’t all have time or the skill to paint everything to a particularly high standard. I would rather spray contrast wash everything and have an army painted to a standard that looks ok from a distance, than spend time I could more productively use elsewhere developing my painting skills.
Love recaps, althoug I wish you'd have included photos to show us better what the forces were and what was going on in the battle.
I wish he had done that as well. could we see more videos like this it was a fun watch.
^ This!

@@Sommeill @1:41:35 if you are still wondering.
yeah, stepping down from heavy using your legion specific units is a hard task.
My IF army is nothing like that….

Please play more 16k games, this video was incredibly entertaining to listen to.

Man the chat at 1:21:00 was class in sarcasm. I feel bad for imperial fist players as well. Such valid points. Now PUT EM UP!
From a pure gameplay POV, there is little reason to play anything other than IF. They basically have everything.
I hope one day to play in a crazy sized game like this. Macca can you post your Salamanders list? I want some ideas for my eventual army- thanks!
I'm totally fine with Night Lords Legion Rule being melee only again if I get the +1 to hit again

The primarcha are all over the shop along with legion traits. They need fixing

Wait, you had 4k each?
4k+4k vs 4k+4k = 8k game
That would be 8k per side for a total of 16k?
@@TheOuterCircle Odd. We're also in Aus and we call a 2k vs 2k game a 2k game (etc).
Yeah I'd say a 3k game not a 6k game for the usual standard size
