@@Ozzymandius1 The right to vote is a right protected by the Constitution. The Constitution only applies to U.S. Citizens. Proof of citizenship needs to be required. Hell, I'm all for secured, verifiable, 100% mail in ballots, as long as proof of citizenship, (DL#, SS#, any other legal document # granting citizenship, which by the way is actually all you need to vote in Texas, one of those 3 things) is included on that mail in ballot. Also, the US post office needs more funding to automatically update people's voter registration when they move, that way accurate representation of congressional districts can be done (since we use the electoral college and not popular vote). I have no problem letting every single U.S. citizen sit at home and vote via the mail, as long as they can prove their citizenship. Which trust me, is not difficult to do at all.
Back in 2016 one political party cried the the election had been tampered with, or stolen, or there was fraud, then in 2020 the exact same argument was being made. So now that both sides agree (albeit 4 years apart) that the election process has some issues, it's time to lock it down, and make sure it's accurate.
There's no reason why ballots can't be serially tracked to home addresses, and then bumped against postal records of who lives their, and their age, eligibility, and citizenship. That would be cake. No voting hours needed, no time off work required, no issues with child care, no standing in lines worrying about hunger, or thirst, no arguments being made that poor people can't find time to vote, no more excuses. The left gets their "everyone can vote" argument settled, and the right gets their "only legal living citizens can vote" argument settled. It's a win/win.
Hell, according to the U.S. Census, their are 331M people living here, 28% are minors, that means 257M people are of legal voting age. Additionally, their 230M issued Drivers licenses in this country, take out the roughly 14% that are 16 and 17 years old, and you've still got roughly 200M active drivers licenses. That's more people with a DL than the total number of people who voted in 2020. There is NO argument to be had that low income persons don't have identification. Otherwise, they would all be homeless seeing as EVERYONE needs ID to live somewhere.
Look at it this way, other than personal integrity, what stops someone like me from voting multiple times? I'm active duty military, I do not live in the state of my legal residency, I always get absentee ballots (mail in ballot). What is preventing me from using that ballot, using the mailed to my house ballot in the state I'm stationed in, and then going to a local polling station. That's 3 votes for me if I so choose without voter integrity. Tell, me without verifying voters, what is gonna stop me from doing that? IF I vote Repub that way, technically I canceled out 2 Dem votes and my 3rd vote is the one that counts. Without voter integrity, how do you prevent that? I'd love to hear the answer.
