Acupuncture reduces radiation-induced dry mouth for head and neck cancer patients

  • A randomized Phase III clinical trial led by Dr. Lorenzo Cohen and researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center found that head and neck cancer patients that received acupuncture treatment during the course of radiation treatment experienced less dry mouth and results lasted up to 12 months after treatment.

    When you say it's effective up for someone up to 12 months after their treatment; does that mean you found it ineffective after 12 months? Thank you!

    I am having radiation treatment now, and i already have dry mouth from my cancer surgery, I am in LA, where can I find the acupuncture clinic for dry mouth treatment? would you recommend one to me? Thanks in advance!

    My friend had his neck surgery and radiation about 1 1/2 years ago. Is it too late to try acupuncture?
