Replacing Fleck 7000 with a Fleck 5810...

My Fleck 7000 died a miserable death. I put a video up several years ago of it after we installed it. It worked fine for years then quit working. I rebuilt the pump on it using a kit I purchased and it seemed to fix the obvious problem of water constantly being fed from the control valve into the drain...but the water would never soften. So, I just let it do it's thing for a while until I could figure out what was going on and then it busted again with water constantly shooting out of the control valve into the drain. So I bypassed it and went looking for options. The 7000 is discontinued and the 5600 and 5800 series are replacements. I opted for the 5810 SXT unit which if you already have the 7000 the kit I'll link to below will be a easy replacement. You'll need to keep your plastic hoses and a few other pieces that I describe in the video.

The progressive programming mode is available by setting the clock to exactly 12:01PM and then simultanously pressing the up and down buttons until the menu's are active. You'll primarily need to change the GrainsX1000 to match whatever setup you have. In my case, it's a 48,000 grain system and the default setting was 32,000, I believe.
