I hate how Kung Lao dies everytime to advance the plot in both mk games and movie.
I just hope the reboot happens and Kung Lao is the champion instead of Liu Kang, man deserves it

I swear it's not nostalgia but the original film is still the best adaptation. Sure it didn't have the blood but it sure did have the spirit of the original games.
The 95 movie had a lot more passion put into it.
@@Shibu_PL well yeah but the director put in a lot of effort into it too. You can see it in the costumes and into certain characters like Kano, sub zero, and scorpion. It's just the story that was lacking.
And it's funny how true to the games at the time it was while the newer films strayed off

To sum up, Kung Lao saved Liu Kang's life immediately when he was in danger but Liu Kang was just standing there screaming when he could just throw a fireball or something. Also I hate Raiden in this movie. He just doesn't care, he acts exactly like Dark Raiden. Bruh this movie is a mess...
Also Kung Lao was far cooler than Liu Kang.

Kung Lao teleported from God knows where to save Liu and Liu didn't even try to save Kung Lao who was in front of him.
It was because Cole was grabbing him and not even Liu Kang could get through the plot armor.

I almost died from laughing watching this movie... The part when kabal says soul sucked thing and when goro smacks cole with car door after he unlocks his "arcana". I was literally coughing unable to breathe cause I was laughing it was so f**king funny.

Being a video game adapted film shouldn’t excuse not very well thought out writing or creative decisions.
The filmmakers decided to use a significant amount of the budget to visually portray Goro. Who was presented with no backstory. Who wasn’t built up or developed to be a villainous threat. Who basically served to be a victim and showcase Cole Young’s lame abilities.🤦🏾♂️
They could've easily used Baraka or any random Shokan to fight against Cole... But Noooo they had to use THE PRINCE OF SHOKAN AND 9 TIME MORTAL KOMBAT CHAMPION to lose against fucking Cole Young. How are we supposed to take Goro seriously as a Threat in the tournament when we saw him get killed by Cole.

Atleast in the recent games when he does make mistakes it's because of his wrong judgement or situation stacked against him.
This Raiden is just plain dick, doesn't even care for his fighters, instead of motivating them he kinda calls them losers and didn't even show any emotions to Lao's Death someone he probably trained and monitored since his birth. Atleast Game Raiden was angry enough to go fight with Shao Kahn before Liu Kang interrupted him.
Movie: Kuang Lao died? Unfortunate, anyway life goes on.

Kabal's scene of him chasing Liu Kang is even worse once you realize that his power is super speed. He is a fast boi, but once he starts chasing after Liu, he has normal speed and shit aim.
I had big problems with this scene especially because they just staired and let him suck out Laos soul. Like they had enough time and 2 of them some one could have distracted subzero and some one could have distracted tsung. Like I could understand if cole and lui were being held back but they weren't.
Exactly they could've have Kabal (someone with SUPER SPEED btw) catch up to Liu and pin him essentially making him watch Lao's Death. Seriously wtf was Liu Kang doing, Kung Lao teleported from god knows where to save Liu Kang from Subzero while Liu Kang didn't even try to save Kung Lao who was in front of him.
Speaking of which, why isn't Cole Young disrupting Shang Tsung's soul steal?

This movie was so bad, oh my god.
I really hate gate keeping and people who say "The Real Fans" type stuff, but the only people I know that really liked the movie were.... "lesser" fans that started playing at like MK 9 or 10 and don't really know any of the lore. Sure MK is about the blood and fighting, but it has a CRAP TON of lore, and anyone who uses the "Did you really expect a story from an MK movie" like YES, I did!

Why should that be explained? In the games it is not like the lin quai are good guys in this part of the story. The previous grandmaster (before sector) worked with outworld and started the cyber initiative. This movie is probably following that pattern.

Mk 2021 is horrendous garbage that I actively despise. Annihilation is bad but fun to watch, but the new one is unforgivable in every respect. Gore can't save bad writing, bad editing, bad story choices, and bad directing. Not having Johnny Cage because the producer was racist against whites is also a huge mark against this movie.

This whole movie kept giving me hellboy 2019 vibes.
Curious fact: the Great Kung LEO gets killed by Goro.
His desecendant the Mere or Simple Kung LEO gets killed by Goro's master. It looks like Shang Tsung's skills improved sufficiently after defeat at the hands of the Great Kung LEO, so we may arrive at a conclusion, that the sorcerer learns and learns successfully, after all.
I'm pretty sure that Kung Lao's death was meant to be 2 Easter Eggs combining Kung Lao's death in Mortal Kombat 3 and Liu Kang's brother's death in Mortal Kombat 1995,it was alright and solid,but it could have been better.

I Personally liked the movie but I do understand the complaints of the movie, I actually have one myself that being a lot of the villains die just like in scorpion’s revenge.

I think I know why most mk stories and movies suck so much, it is because of the gods, elder gods and titans, they should be overpowered, but they never use their powers right because the movie would be really short then... If mortal kombat was without gods and stuff, the stories would be much better and more balanced in powers.
