I spent way to long making this video. This was only supposed to be a 4 minute rant. But I started coming up with more reasons to hate(also like) the Revenants to the point that I took an extra week to make this video. Hopefully the extra time will be worth it. I put a lot of effort into the "meme edits". Hope you guys enjoyed the video and smile like Revenant Liu Kang XD

I still remember how shocked EVERYONE was when Revenant Liu Kang lost to Jax. Not just everyone playing the game next to me, but also every CZcamsr I watched. Seeing Liu Kang lose to anyone outside of boss characters is a shock

TrueUnderDawgGaming there’s a theory that the reason for that is qu’an chi. I think that the revenants are only as powerful as qu’an chi can make them. The more revenants there are, the more difficult it is to power them and the weaker they end up being. In the case of jax vs liu kang, qu’an chi was very much already weakened, rendering liu kang weaker as well

I still want to know what was the point in getting rid of Dark Raiden. Like he could have had some interesting interactions with Good Raiden, Liu Kang (Alive and Revenent), Shao Kahn, Kronika honestly ANYONE! Like I legit can't get over hyping him up JUST FOR HIM TO DISAPPEAR WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING.
Trust me this is one of the major reasons I didn't buy the game. When I heard what happened to Dark Raiden I watched the "story" on CZcams and boy am I glad I missed that shit fest.
That was one of my biggest pet peeves of MK11 we traded a character that was hyped at the end of MKX and who honestly would have made a much better antagonist for a character that couldn’t be anymore of a boring shoehorn.

In MK9 and MKX the Revenants were less characters and more just reminders to Raiden of his failure, which I thought was pretty interesting. In MKX they taunt him, his greatest students worshiping Shinnok and trying to kill him. I wasn't too surprised that they didn't amount to much more then because I thought that's just what they were supposed to be, any overriding goal was gone when they were "polluted by Shinnoks evil".
In MK11 though they don't really even do that. They're legitimately presented as having their own goals, while not having any. If Kronika just used magic to make them serve her that would've been fine, but it's implied that they're doing it out of their own free will. They instead taunt their past selves, which doesn't make too much sense but w/e. Shouldn't they try to convince them to join together? They have it the worst in Aftermath, where after Nightwolf and Sindel are dealt with they are no longer a threat. They're just killed and tossed aside in cut scenes, not even fights.
I don't know about that nebula. Loosing to jax is a stretch.

I feel bad for my favorite character, Kabal. His potential was really wasted. He's literally one of the few who can in fact kill Shao Khan, yet people forget about it.

Like I always thought Kronika was always going to be a red herring and Dark Raiden was going to be the true final boss like his motivation is already there he wants to maintain Balance of the realms by any means necessary

That's what I thought, why was Kronika even necessary they could have just had Dark Raiden and the Revenants be the main antagonists with Dark Raiden as the final boss and left it at that or even better due what they set up at the end of the MKX comic and had Onaga become the MK Armageddon level threat that Blaze was but instead they opt for a bald headed billion+ year old wench who was always apart of the story "yes, from the very beginning" (sarcasm).

The revenants are like evil Pokemon team grunts. Bland, and easy to beat
Revenant Nightwolf got wasted the most! He is only encountered once as past Nightwolf fights him and then immediately dies by Shang Tsung!
Some chick on Tumblr also mentions that he gets weak when his revenant is nearby, but that didn't happen to the other characters who met their revenant selves. Yet another bungled thing by the hack behind this story mode.
Lmao, that's where you're wrong buddy, Revenant Nightwolf was almost able to kill Shang Tsung AKA one of the biggest MK villains. If the Human Version Nightwolf had not intervened, Shang Tsung would have been toasted like a steak. Revenant Nightwolf was pretty much second best to Revenant Liu Kang
The best moment the revenants got was when Sindel did that pretty sweet double kill on Revenant Jade and Kitana.
In the same scene, Shang Tsung (who shape shifted into Revenant Kung Lao) snapping Revenant Kung Lao's neck and mimicking Kung Lao's trademark victory pose as he morphs back into himself.
I was really excited at the end of MKX and looking forward to MK11s story. I liked the idea Liu kang fallen from his 'chosen one' status to rule with kitana in the netherrealm. Then like you said, they must obey clock lady and do more mundane b.s. tasks in this story too.. Sadge.
Also, what's the point of creating characters that are literally the children of veteran characters if we won't get to watch them grow and step out of their parents' shadows?
If there's one thing I will admit, it's this:
Sindel is the only character in the series that is sexy as both a Revenant and a mortal. Though when it comes to being a villain, she sucks at it.

You know, the Sindel they resurrected was the Revenant Sindel. It wasn't the MK9 Sindel brought forward in time. That means she had spent the last 20 or so years with Revenant Kitana catching up with her daughter under Quan Chi's influence. But when Sindel gets resurrected, she immediately bonds with Past Kitana and coldly kills Revenant Kitana with along with Revenant Jade.
She doesn't bond with past kitana. That's just a ruse. Also come on, give them a break. Nrs was way too busy programming robocop's amazing, interesting gameplay to do all this work to make sure continuity makes sense.

In my opinion, Revenant Kabal should've have more attention in the story. Don't just dissapear after getting spanked by Jacqui or Jax. Even Human Kabal had the spotlight more time.

Seeing Khameleon opened up a world of nostalgia for me,and then a world of confusion because what the fuck did she do again?
To be honest I'd actually want to see the "New Era" as presented in this video, just so we can see like 4 different ninja clans all fighting each other (with 3 of them technically being the same clan with different leaders). Meanwhile Kung Lao and Lu Kang a both being joint mortal combat champs while Shao Khan is still somehow able to conquer all the realms in his truck.
I wan't to see that clusterfuck of a timeline and the kind of bullshit fights that would come out of it.

I think NRS came to the conclusion somewhere that they wrote themselves into a corner and felt the only way to deal with the revenants without Quan Chi was to have the time plot and introduce Kronika. Even then imagine if Dark Raiden tried to use Past Quan Chi to save the Revenants and we actually got some past and present team ups.
Something came to my mind, we saw in the Kano fight that if a past character gets affected/killed the same will happen to the future character. Now because of the time merger and the defeat of Shao Kahn (not talking about Aftermath) Shao Kahn never invaded Earthrealm and Sindel didn't kill everyone. In the normal story no character who becomes a revenant dies which means that the Revenants should also turn back into their human self because past character dies-> Future Character dies so Past character didn't die-> Future character lives or becomes human again

Revenants just make the heros look good,someone has to suck right?
At least in mkX they gave the revenants and alive characters different introduction when they are about to fight making them unique and worth to equip them on when fighting. In MX11 they just say the same dialogue nothing different.
One of my favourite intro banters in MKX is between Living Jax and Revenant Jax.
I wish revenant Smoke was in MK11. If Kronika is recruiting ALL the revenant heroes it would be a cooler idea than to just job the few we have plus scorpion. It'd be awesome if we saw Revenant Smoke tag team with Noob so even if he wasn't playable Noob could at least have a Noob-Smoke variation before resetting the timeline. Again.
