Who would imagine that something so boring is relaxing and therapeutic. Amazing the difference between empty space and a room filled to the brim with stuff.

I actually lived across the street from that camera when I came to California in 1987 and I knew K mart with my eyes closed my daughter's dress from K mart my grandkids it was so much fun going to Kmart diner .. Who remembers the lady that used to say thank you for chopping Kmart
There's alot of great memories that happened during my employment for 10 years.
The last time I went to that Kmart was around June of 2019 and damn did it really make me sad to see how empty is was. Knowing that so many people have lost and were gonna lose their jobs seriously made me a bit depressed.

Remember, Kmart is not totally out of business, they still have some remaining in select markets in the USA. Also, there is a separate and very successful Kmart found in Australia and New Zealand. The baby section was on the right side. I bought all my baby clothing for my daughter and son. My son was born 2015 and my daughter 2011. So sad. When I was a little girl in the 80s we would go there often. Such good memories. Sad.
my childhood right here. at first i was making jokes about it closing down and yet my stupid depressed brain regrets saying that. in matter of fact the last time i was there was when they had only 4 more weeks until going out of business. as soon as he walked in when the music stopped it was time for my nostalgia to be the music. thank you soooo! much for this Robert god bless. i'm getting old already i turned 19 last month and this is where my mind puts me into its nice to talk to your younger self sometimes

I wish someone else would buy the brand name off of Sears Holdings once Kmart finally liquidates the rest of their stores. Would be awesome to still have a 3rd big box competing with Target and Walmart, ESPECIALLY if it's a revitalized version of the old brand.
SAD, I shopped here often, but did like it better before Sears bought it. Still, another store from the past on it's way out. Thank you for this video, wish I had gone right before it's closing to see everything one last time.
Watching these Kmart videos makes me miss Kmart a lot more. After my Kmart was announced back in May 2020 it triggered my mental health and I started slamming doors like I wasn't doing it on purpose I knew this was coming right after the Bismarck ND Kmart closed in February 2020 my last day was July 17th 2020 there last day was July 19th 2020 and unfortunately I couldn't make it to the final closing announcement even the Kmart employees even said it was heartbreaking when the last day came they knew it was coming they even showed us their memories at working at Kmart for 50 years and showed us the early varient of the Minot ND Kmart way back in the day
Well now maybe the entire floor will be replaced, the sad part of this Kmart but it was there high volume sales that kept this site open
til the end.

They still have a Kmart in Long Beach and Costa Mesa and their sister store Sears is still open in Burbank

i love this video but makes me a little sad i actually loved this place and i don't care to say it i worked here for 10 years up in till the day it closed i did pretty much everything here i even got to do our kmart toy reviews showing and playing with new toys playing with kids giving candy and drinks out i even got to take my 14 year old daughter to help me out we dressed in x mas outfits it was awesome one more last thing towards the end of closing i was chosen by greg and chip to do our kmart store announcement they used my voice for the last 8 weeks we were open i recorded every monday for the next week attention kmart shoppers then read the new prices and % off of departments i was the last voice our store shoppers got to hear along with chip it is now awesome to me at least thanks for the video
No...thank you! Im sure I heard your voice at one point. Thats awesome! I was walking through this Kmart in its last weeks. I collect toys...so this was one of my stops. It is sad that Kmart is gone. Big Bear Lake California Kmart is currently closing which will leave California with 5 Kmarts left
