During my time in Infosys, I came face-2-face with her in couple of occasion! Once while giving farewell function to Nilakani for Aadhaar project in 2009 and second time in a function which I forgot the occasion. What a simplicity and down to earth people they were. I was just fortunate to get the opportunity to see her and Murthy Sir and all the founding members so closely. My period of 7 years at Infosys shall remain one of the most cherish and unforgettable moments of my life till my dead bed. I really miss Bangalore and Infosys.

My paternal grandfather would touch my feet every morning when he used to live with us and the days he couldn’t touch my feet he would touch the feet of our house help who was an unmarried girl (she wasn’t underage n she was pursuing her studies too). He said as per traditional texts unmarried girls are Goddess incarnate n then I would ask him so when I will get married I won’t be goddess incarnate? He would laugh n say as a daughter of this family I will always be treated above the boys in the family married or not. And when I’ll get married n have a child I’ll be a mother goddess for him or her.
I don’t know how much of it is true but the kind of love n affection I got from both sides of my family (very different for each other still their idea of respecting girl child was same) helped me grow into a confident person today. It’s very important to love n discipline your child equally (irrespective of gender)
