After Yugoslavia was created, the border got moved right in front of Gorizia and Trieste (You will sometimes hear from Slovenian people the saying 'Trst je naš, Gorica pa še bo' Which translates to 'Trieste is ours, Gorizia is yet to be'', and most of the population used to actually be slovenian, but the younger generations just consider themselves italians, also i got a bit carried away, sorry). So the people of Yougoslavia gathered to build up Nova Gorica (New Gorizia).

Since the game is focused on the battles between italy and austro-hungarian empire, there isn't any croatian people. In the actaul historical events, there might have been some croatianpeople living in the Austro Hungarianempire and have fought there
Being an italian i say that the light and the colours are really on point. I've been around that area and in a sunny day (90% of the days) the colours are just the same
I bought this game cause I don't have internet where I live and the offline multiplayer still gives me that big battle feel. And it never feels old cause even if I play a map 100 times. There's 1,000 different outcomes of what can happen. I love it

Tannenberg was good. Verdun was also good. So far Isonzo seems to be the culmination of both games plus new features like customization of your soldiers and the rework of abilities helps a lot.

The bots are a bit hit and miss really. Sometimes they are a bit brain dead and other times they happily one-tap you. You could say they represent different skill levels of players.
I played bot matches at Pax this spring. I couldn't control any difficulty levels if there are any due to it being a demo build. They weren't necessarily hard they just overwhelm you fast due to the low rate of fire weapons

Right now everybody's ranting and raving how good the sniper is but are forgetting what the devs did to the first game Verdun. I was playing Verdun the other day and was on the American faction being a sniper and the scope was so blurry that you could barely see through it. They did that because a lot of new players were complaining. And don't be surprised that they do it to this game also.
Man i didn't even like verdun that much this game is great so much fun. I think the maps are the highlight its chaos when bombardments and gas starts coming in.
They have a pretty unique feeling. Lots of verticality on some. And compared to verdun way more variety. There are river crossings, urban fighting, CQB in tunnels and trenches, and like I said lots of verticality
Sucks that BF4 didn’t have bots like these games, I recently spent $35 on premium to get all maps only to find that no one plays those maps only the free ones. It’s like I just gave away $35.
The thing I’m wondering is what’s next for the franchise as the only real front left that they haven’t done is the Anglo Ottoman and Russo Ottoman fronts which took place in the Middle East and caucus mountains or alternatively there is the Russian civil war which started before the end of ww1 in 1918 so there’s still some good game idea’s
So far, how has teammwork been, and does the game lean into encouraging or even requiring teamwork, or is it a more just kind of a bonus thing? Are their proximity comms?
I’ve played it a good amount now and teamwork is needed. You have the mountaineer class which can help people on mortars target more accurately. You also have officers which are the most important as they call in support like gas and arty. Not to mention only a teammate can fully heal you. Also engineers can build mortars and machine guns and permanently destroy barbed wire. Also assault can drop grenade boxes and infy drop ammo boxes.
Yeah I can't confirm the console performance, but it did perform MUCH better for me on PC than Hell Let Loose, which is dodgy on consoles. So I am hoping that Isonzo performs fine on consoles.
0:26 I’m really enjoying the games. Though if they’d make proning less problematic I’d be able to really love it. Especially since the gunplay isn’t really that fast. The rest of the movement is fluid, but going prone and moving around is terrible.

I play mainly with bots because I don't have the money for a subscription and I noticed my character isn't leveling up or unlocking guns when I get kills. Can you only level up and get new weapons by playing online? I have gotten 72 kills with the base rifleman gun and can't seem to unlock the next weapon which says to get 10 kills and take a objective
I really want to get Isonzo. But seeing how verdun just died, and it feels like tannenburg was a cash grab and dropped like a dead animal really fast after, I have a hard time trying to justify getting Isonzo. You say it seems like it'll have a long shelf life,but seeing how those 2 turned out, it's hard to believe it.

My laptop can run isonzo at high settings 1080p with 30fps. I hope there will be a patch to improve the performance. I have a AMD 3550H RTX 2060 mobile and 32gb memory.
I'm definitely going to be a toxic sniper....have been in Verdun I'm not going to stop now..I'm literally not going to do anything except get head shots and disregard caping my objectives
I play Verdun most nights give or take, but I don't have a clue why really. In about 2-3 years I've been playing, they have done nothing to the game. The amount of issues the game has is unreal too, from bots that are invincible, bots that can see & shoot through any obstruction, smoke, foliage, bots that stick to you like a magnet & bump you about 4 foot out the way when you're aiming a shot, but you can't bump them out the way when they are just standing blocking trenches & entrances, or bots that just constantly run back & forward right in front of your face. Squad orders constantly disappear & you have to keep placing them, no ammo refill so you have to die after you run out, servers crashing. Placing artillery markers is a nightmare, often leading to you bombing yourself, even at times when you are a good distance out the range circle. This is only some of the issues I can think of off the top of my head & they've been that way since I started playing the game, not 1 change has ever been made. Yet they can go making Tannenberg & now Isonzo to take more of our money, but don't bother fixing games once they've made them?... I take it you can already guess whether I'll be buying Isonzo or not?
Isonzo totally lacks the grit and atmosphere of Verdun & Tannenberg, which is what the WW1 series is supposed to be based upon. I'm glad new players to the series are enjoying it though.

Most people get this wrong, it isn't just north italy. The Sabotino map is actually in Slovenia, and so is a part of Gorizia

Bots really make games worth buying since the game never truly dies

this game is pretty decent, i like the ai in it too, gladly you can rank up with the ai as well, gonna have to try the previous two games now.

On average I would say 30 mins. But I have had a game go over an hour. It depends on the map.

@@Terrydactyl Some movies and books unfortunately do glorify the war. And this shameful game does it too. It makes people have fun killing other people, where in reality thousands of innocent people have died on the Isonzo front. We should remember their sacrifice and the fact that this war was as any other war unnecessary and horrific. Not have fun playing this games
