- TEAM SGG PATREON / somegadgetguy Kingston XS1000 Review! It's little, but it packs a ton of storage!
If you're in the same boat I am (replacing some of those OTHER 1TB drives), then a little pocket drive like this might be right up your alley. Especially when this drive sells at a really attractive price!

#kingston #SSD - Věda a technologie
Not in the market for a new ssd just yet, but always want to stop by to give the very much deserved “like” and I always appreciate learning something new everyday when I can.
Thanks brotherman! Keep up the amazing work.
$65 for 1TB version is not a bad value. I do still want to see Kingston make a 1TB microSD card since SanDisk has it. But for now, this looks tempting as a secondary backup drive.
Getting one of these 2tb drives will definitely help with storing games on my Xbox. I'm almost out of storage on my 1tb One X. This would cost much less time, effort and money than fully replacing the hdd in my console, so I'll definitely look into this Kingston drive.
Juan, well timed sir. I edit off of the drive that you kept flashing. Too say that I am worried would be an understatement. I will check these out.
Been looking at those drives a little side eye lately...
@@SomeGadgetGuy We are on the same page
Any idea how much power it consumes? I wish to use it for a TV box with a 5V 2A power supply, along with 2 other gamepads for console emulation purposes
Looks,s great as a backup drive for my android devices.
It's a cute drive. 1TB though... YUUUGEEEE!!! (for that size)
I think i want one. I have a portable 2TB WD HDD hooked up to my laptop... This might be nice to have for when i need something in a crunch
It was really nice moving from spinning discs to solid state for my portable. I think you'll dig it.
Hey Juan will you be reviewing the Sony Xperia 5 an 10 V?
This SSD fitts like a glove in the fifth pocket of my Jeans. Amazing aint't it ?
What if you just had usb 3.0,can it get 1000mbps?
The 2tb of this one is good for PS5?
love your video angle. it feels like you talking to me sitting in front of me. ❤❤
Wow that is nice.
Not too shabby right?
Is this compatible with Oneplus 12?
I'm planning to buy my first portable ssd to store my photos/videos. Is the kingston's SSDs better than the sandisk's? I heard that Sandisk's SSDs are quite prone to data loss so I'm not sure what to get for I only have limited budget and there are tons of draw backs about these known brands.
Only SSD that ever failed on me was a Kingston.
So can you connect this to an android phone and back up photos and vidoes?
ff
Does it work on xbox series s
mine is capped at 460 MB read write, my port is USB 3.2 gen 1, what problem?
Use C to C cable
Can it be formatted for MAC OS and the reviews on Amazon are pretty bad with these SSD's
I dont use mac, and the reviews of this are overwhelmingly positive on amazon.
The XS2000 reviews seem pretty bad.
Now I can finally convert all those old hard drives into blunt weapons!
WooHoo! Heavy bois!
I hope one day that ssds will have the longevity and life span of optical discs like blu ray discs but with the largest capacity of a hard drive that currently exist with read and write speeds that are even faster than the fastest current ssds money can buy. My end game ssd would be the fastest ssds with the fastest read and write speeds with the highest capacity with the longest life span money can buy that the ssds can rival the speeds of fiber optics internet that use fiber optic cables. It's why I prefer to buy every physical copies of every movie that I want in 4k otherwise I would settle for blu ray if 4k was never made for certain titles of movies since I would rather have 4k every single time over blu ray. The standard blu ray would be like upgrading from a 1080p TV to a 4k micro led tv or a blu ray would be the equivalent of 16 bit 44.1 khz wav cd quality and the 4k tv would be like the highest quality of 512 dsd hi res audio file with no mqa that is mixed and mastered properly during the mixing and mastering process. I consider blu ray like a standard 1080p tv or standard 16 bit cd quality because 1080p and cd quality are both standard quality but not the highest quality that I'm looking for and 4k like a hi res 512 dsd audio file no mqa.
Thanks for the review though, I won't hop to USB based storage until AMD has USB 4.0 in its future Zen 6 based motherboards.
Your eyes and those eyelashes so damn pretty!
Are you taken? 😅
Yeah sorry. Got snatched up a while ago. 😊
@@SomeGadgetGuy whenever it goes wrong, I will be right here - waiting.
😎
Btw, what's your take on the current situation of Android OS upgrades? Theres barely anything significant they've given since Android 10, other than themes or customisations with every iterations.
Or you're an iOS nerd?
It's been frustrating?
We've gotten some really nice practical benefits, things like core components being updated through Google Play and direct security patches instead of waiting for OTAs. It's cool in a really boring way, but that means new Android features can often be delivered back to MUCH older phones.
The flip side, we've also seen Android lock a lot down, so while we get these incredibly powerful new chips, we often suffer performance hits because of things like scoped storage.
Across the whole landscape, it's frustrating that the reputation of premium tier Android is basically in the toilet, and sales peaked back before the start of 5G roll outs (back when Androids were a LOT different than iPhones).
Every year companies make Androids more like iPhones, it just reinforces to consumers why they should only buy iPhones.
1:01 🤣 LOL
QUESTION TO U ALL??
SEEN IN VIDEO SPEEDS HE HAS IN 700-800MB/S HOW IS IT POSSIBLE N WHY DONT I GET EVEN CLOSE TO THIS?
USB I USE IS USB3.2 FOR THE XS1000 2TB AND WHEN I TRANSFER BETWEEN THIS SSD AND MY NVME THAT IS INSIDE MY DESKTOP ITS ABOUT 50% OF THE SPEEDS HE HAS IN VIDEO 275-310MB/S (MY1ST THAT BROKE WAS OVER 400MB/S SO WARRANTY SSD I GOT REPLACED IS EVEN SLOWER)
WILL SPEED GET BETTER IF I GET A USB C CABLE(USB C TO C) 3.2 GEN2*2 PORT ON BACK I GOT ON MY DESKTOP??
wILL IT BE FASTER IN I DO GET ANOTHER CABLE N USE THE FASTEST USB C ON MY DESKTOP?
bECAUSE THE SPEED IS FAR FROM CLOSE TO WHAT IT SHOULD BE IS MY FEELING!
PLEASE NEED HELP,INFO N ANSWER ABOUT JUST THIS SPEED THING ???
tHANK 4 A GREAT INFO VIDEO
Me too....
Can i play with using exteran ssd?
did you know the answer ? i have the same question ?
3:16 600-700 MB/s for a Windows on ARM tablet with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset is more than impressive. I can totally live with that.
Having said that, I do think Kingston made this because of modern phones without microSD card slot. You have to be careful not to lose this thing, though.
SSD's in general have been A HUGE help for phone storage, but going this small is definitely a perk.
The actual speed is 145mbps, not 1000mbps
any of such 3.2 gen 2 max speed is 300mbps...
You need some capital letters in there so folks know what you're talking about. 1000Mbps is 125MB/s.
It stinks it only ships with a usb A cable
Kkok❤❤❤
