I'm planning to buy my first portable ssd to store my photos/videos from my phone. Is the kingston's SSDs better than the sandisk's? I heard that Sandisk's SSDs are quite prone to data loss so I'm not sure what to get for I only have limited budget and there are tons of draw backs about these known brands.

Not really, if you are doing constant writes / reads it will get a bit warm

Yes, faster than a normal SSD, but its going to me slower than a M.2 NVMe SSD
