Your comment inspired me to write this
Someday, this piece will be played for the last time. Like nothing ever mattered. Before the grand finale, before the fireworks erupt, I sit at this piano, in this grand ballroom, where the ceiling mocks the night sky, and play my heart out. I had lived an eternity of triumphant and defeated days. Some light, some dark. From the happiest moments, to the darkest hours. All of it in the end was just time. However, it was time well spent. Having lived such a long and fulfilling life, you barely felt sad about it being over. You felt numb, but not in a dreadful way. You felt numb in a peaceful way. As if your soul was ascending somewhere better. A perfect fit for the end of the world. All things end at some point, and now was finally the time. It was your time to say goodbye.
Edit: just realized that I switched from 1st to 2nd person but I'm too lazy to fix it

I wrote a poem a while ago, this seems to match it perfectly.
English is not my mother language, sorry in advance for any mistakes. I'll try my best to translate it properly.
    Nebula
I stare into the endless void
Infinite points of light greet me
Sending me their heat from eras ago.
    The void smiles at me.
    I feel weightless
    But in a twist,
    The pressure in my limbs
    Tell me otherwise.
    I look down,
The contrast between my body and the night.
    The lights fondle me.
    The void hugs me.
Everything gathered together in this very moment
There's nobody. How it was meant to be.
    How it has always been.
    The lights call me.
    The void screams my name.
With my hand, trying to reach it, I see the thick fingers of my glove shake hands with the space.
    Unexplored.
    Mysterious.
One that knows me so well.
    Old friends.
    Vacuum.
    Matter.
Nouns that are engraved in my eyes.
    _Don't rush now..._
    The stars tell me.
_We've waited this long... We aren't going anywhere..._
    The void speaks.
I take a deep breath. Close my eyes.
*With a sudden movement. It is done.*
    With a brief whistle
    sounds disappear.
    My helmet tumbles away...

this piece of music feels like what it must feel like to see the world ending around you when you can't do anything but sit and watch, oddly calming due to the nature of no more stress but slightly unnerving like the end scene of a movie you wanted more answers too, something you're not quite done with yet, being done was never your decision to begin with. It's like forced acceptance into peaceful bliss. Kind of like the unsatisfactory feeling where you're never quite full. Its like watching your lover slip away into the arms of someone else, never meeting your first love again, its like giving away everything you feel at once to something forcing you to admit you still think or feel about the things you never wanted to remember again. it feels like tearing away at an old wound as you lie on the floor wondering why you feel so strongly so suddenly once more. cold yet comforting tears trickling down your cheeks as you smile at your old painful memories. It is grieving acceptance of all you love and lost as you watch it all crumble before your eyes as you desperately try to scramble all the little pieces you have left together, yet failing your efforts when you never wanted anything more.

The wooden rafters above him became a dull sight, and the sunlight streaming in through the glass hurt his eyes. Closing them, Ani sighed, immediately tensing up as the eerie echo of a song floated up to his study. His eyes shot open again as he listened, realizing that someone was playing his piano downstairs. The piece was familiar; one of Chopin’s nocturnes. It’s player was slow and patient, turning the lovely piece into a melancholy display of painful notes. The menacing sound tore at Ani’s heart, as he became aware of the stillness around him. He was alone with himself, and he himself was the one taunting him with those tedious chords. They echoed and droned through the emptiness of the castle. Slowly and cautiously, he sat up in the window seat and unlocked the window, letting the frame of glass creak open on its hinges. Ani poked his head out into the chill morning air as those ominous notes struck his ears. Looking down, he could see the windows of his music room, the glass stained black as a dark mist billowed up like smoke from every crack of the walls. His ears began to ring the more the piece echoed, and a feeling of dread overtook him. His Other had returned for him, and he was not there for small talk.

Taking your final breaths, a stream of memories comes back to you. From your innocent and youthful childhood days all the way to your adulthood. Some painful memories and some beautiful. And you realize that they were only days. Days that have passed and that you will never have again. But it's fine, you're at peace.
The sunlight pouring into your window made the vase of flowers on the table next to you glimmer brightly like dancing stars.
A tree outside grew, full of life. Squirrels played under the branches, protected by the leaves. Birds built nests and insects made burrows.
Children played outside, eyes shining bright and wide. Genuine smiles were found on their faces.
Dogs were running after sticks and enjoying the vibrant life outside.
Cats laid on couches inside their houses, soaking up the warmth of the sun. The music playing from another room put them in a merry mood.
In other countries, people are at war.
Diamond tears rolled down kids rosy cheeks.
Families grieve and mourn their deceased loved ones. Looks of sorrow and anguish evident on their faces; guilt and hatred reflected in their eyes.
Teens no longer flinch at the sound of bombs, for they have become desensitized.
    Many live in poverty, neglected.
Many and many more tragedies could be found anywhere, everywhere.
But still there is beauty in life, you know? Life itself is one big, beautiful tragedy. Have you experienced it to the fullest? ...
Why aren't you replying, hm? ...
Oh you have passed. I see.
I hope you have made use of your life, you only have one, after all; or at least one that you can experience in this consciousness. But for now you must let that go and rest... _roll credits_

Your alone in an abandoned castle. All of a sudden, a slow piano begins to play. You follow the hollow and empty, slow sound, and you stumble upon an exquisite ballroom. Nobody is sitting at the piano, for the piano is playing itself. Abruptly, a tall man appears beside you, holding his hand out. You’ve never danced before, but you learn things quite fast. You take his hand, and he takes yours. The waltz begins. It’s almost as if your dreaming. You wake up and you are dancing with the same man, and around 100 people are so surround you in a circle. You realize, this is reality. This is no mere dream, you are living the life you’ve always wanted. Has your wishes been granted by the Gods above? No. You are not dead, you are living in another dimension, where one’s dreams are granted.

You sit there looking calm as all the emotion swells behind you but there's so much you don't know what to do. So you start smiling. A single tear rolls down your cheek and you start to chuckle to yourself. Not like an anime lunatic. Just like you've realized you lost. :)

Life is all about fullfilling ones dreams...". Shortly after, the climax of the cataclysm happens and a shock-wave rocks the surface of the earth.
