    The idea of using a duplicate corner as a receipt in restoring the card is an old principle that has been published by numerous magicians over the years. The handling of using the box to restore the card is inspired by Jay Sankey.

    Wow, one of the best tutorials I've seen on CZcams. Clear, planned and structured layout. Intro, actual performance, breakdown of the moves, variation, tips. And a BIG thank you for keeping everything you say relevant, not rambling on or doing unnecessary things like adding jump cuts to your face.

    Not only is it such a powerful effect.
    Your routine is composed so well, it provides for all difficulties, which could occur doing this effect.
    And finally your teaching is so good, because it is clear, detailed and even considers the small, but yet so important subtleties in perfomance, which create a miracle from a trick.
    Beautyful !

      You only need 2 decks of the same color. You can perform this at least a dozen times before needing another pack of cards. Most people wouldn't know the difference between 52 cards, and 40 something cards.

      Try buying Bicycle pinochle decks. They come with two of each card (A,K,Q,J,10,9) and have the same back design as a standard bicycle deck. Always helpful when you need duplicated; plus you don't need to worry about destroying a full deck.

    Nice effect and excellent tutorial. One weakness in my eye is there's no reason why the observer needs to sign the card piece. Obviously, from the effects viewpoint it's to give a reason to put a hand into a pocket so you can drop the torn pieces as you pull out the sharpie. How about, after doing the shaking the card box "can you hear the pieces" thing you add the signed fragment to the box and then do the magic move?

    • @stuarcari
      @stuarcari Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah in my opinion this is a terrible force. First of all, I think some eagle eyed lay people will notice the card you show them came from the top of the deck. Yes, most people won't notice, but it's not well hidden and people who like to really watch will see it. Also as you mentioned, it just looks weird. Why am I showing them a different card to the one they touched. It doesn't make sense. Some of your audience will still be thinking about this instead of going along with the rest of the trick. Even if they don't know it's a force, they may think something iffy just happened, and you open yourself up to someone asking why you didn't show them the card that was touched.
      I think you're better just doing some kind of riffle or dribble force where they shout stop, because in the audiences mind, showing the bottom card of the top packet, or the top card of the bottom packet are as equally logical. Showing a card that wasn't pointed to isn't.
      I know people will say the majority of audiences won't notice or say anything and that's probably true, but why open yourself up by doing something that can be perceived as wrong or weird.

      I actually just performed this trick for the very first time today for four different coworkers, so four different performances. I repeated it virtually identically as the tutorial. No one suspected the force at all. what seemed a little shady, and it was most likely my performance, was reaching into my pocket for the pen. That point, if anything is the weak link of the trick. But experience and skill will help me to get through that in future performances without drawing suspicion. It is a very solid trick that I was able to pull off convincingly after having only watched the video once and rehearsed once or twice. Great trick!

    Great trick. I have a torn and restored trick that I've been using for years, but you are left with a piece at the end and have to ditch it. With yours, you start with the corner and end clean. Even though the other way looks a lot more realistic because you actually make the card restore in front of them instead of a box, and I've yet to be caught with the piece, I'd rather end clean like yours, well done.

    Signing the broken piece makes no difference. It's only impressive when you sign the card and then you rip it. I've seen magicians repair cards that were signed.

    Really nice voice I have to say. Very cool card trick as well. I like the points you have mentioned and the different topics. For me the best topic was the angle topic because I think nobody does it in that detailed way.
    I really look forward to new videos with you and the tutorials you hopefully will keep doing and in exactly that way :D
