  • In this video I show you how I rig, and fish the Berkley Gulp 2" camo color sandworm for surf fishing. I give a step-by-step tutorial on how to rig and use this particular bait in the surf. Surf fishing with this bait is very effective. I show you the rod, reel, line and terminal tackle that I use to catch lots of fish right off of the beach.

    Great video. We will be in Morro Bay this coming week, so it will be a perfect time to get the surf gear out and give it a try. It's been a couple years. Thanks for the video inspiration!

    I am fully with you, those are the two ways I use exclusively with a favor to the Carolina for more productive especially in a tough day. It is easier to rig than dropshot too, which makes a huge difference in a short fishing window in the early morning and early evening. As you mentioned, dropshot is easier to cast and more sensitive, so I still use it as well. What I do though, is to add a sliding bobber without a stop knot, so I can cast a country mile without having to use a heavy sinker to hurt the natural presentation. Of course the bobber should have some weight by itself, slightly heaver than the sinker. Otherwise the bobber won't catch up with the sinker during the casting. I don't put the sinker on the main line, instead in the leader with a stop knot between it and the hook.

      That is a cool rigging method! I will have to try it! Thank you so much for the comment!

      Wish I could get a diagram of "What I do though, is to add a sliding bobber without a stop knot, so I can cast a country mile without having to use a heavy sinker to hurt the natural presentation. For me the beads is more to protect the knot. From the weight. That’s why I use the rubber ones.

      I have caught more fish than I can count on the camo. I've also caught them with red, motor oil, and pumpkin seed colors.

    Will medium heavy rod work for these?

    • @jwestfishing3229
      @jwestfishing3229  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes, it will. It would be harder to cast and not as sensitive......
