A friend for Life, crows can actually live up to 80 years
@@mikasibil203 I think you might be thinking of ravens. Crows have a shorter lifespan, but maybe they could get up to that age too. The oldest crow I've heard of was 59, which is still very old! It's interesting they can live that long even if it is an outlier.
@@Mac03899 Yes, You are right, my mistake, Is that in my language Raven and crows are called the same so I always confuse them in english

Crows are very smart, they have been known to make tools.
As an indigenous American and our belief , that crow is that baby guardian angel
Aho.
Indians believe crows are the spirit of ancestors so that's basically the boy's grandpa or grandma visiting him
You mean as an Indian…
@@Sandmann-oh7rr a lot of Native Americans prefer Native American or Indigenous American as Indian is typically used by (and for) a lot of communities in India
Along with the term Indian being used by those who traveled to America (mainly Columbus if I remember correctly?) for spices/goods/etc. while believing that it was actually India

Fun fact: Crows are incredibly smart. They love shiny things and will gift you things back if you gift them things. They have facial recognition. This bird has befriended this toddler for life.

It is believed that crows have the intellect of a 7 year old and they have fantastic memory. So Russell knows Otto and will always be there for him. Crows also bring their loved ones gifts
I have three garden crows but as for gifts? So far I have a plastic rose, a dime, a quarter, endless little green apples with beak marks from being carried, and one creepy bisque doll’s arm🫣
@@lisavanstetsen6223gifts are gifts
Russell is a deceased family member. Someone who always wanted a son but never had one. This is straight love, protection. After Russell my depart, another animal will take its place. This will go on until this lil boy becomes and old man.
Yes crows are very intelligent and have good memory
Their intellect is not that of a 7 year old, their ability to reason and problem solve is that of a 7 year old. Their intellect as a whole is more-so that of a gorilla.
The crow letting a toddler pet him is the most precious thing and Otto's so gentle with him ಥ_ಥ

What an amazing friendship! ❤
I believe this is not just a crow but a loved one watching over him from heaven 😢❤😂
@@tinamarierobey9013That's a beautiful way to put it!
This isn't the first time a crow has chosen to protect something that could kill it. There is a story of a crow raising and protecting a kitten. I think you can find it on CZcams. The crow would interact and feed the kitten what it found.
As an Indian, we believe that the crow has the soul of the grandfather/ grandmother or great grandfather/ great grandmother who is watching out for the kid❤
This is how kids should behave around animals, that little boy is SOOO gentle with Russ. Teach your kids that!!
Crows are highly intelligent, they remember faces, and how they treated them. And they pass that off to other generations of crows. Your boy is apart of their flock
Really? So there's a chance that this crows, children, grandchildren, etc. will bond like this with the boy? Even if he doesn't feed them to entice them first?
Would the later generations (listed above) seek the boy out?
Will they recognize the boy as he grows?
So amazing to consider.
Yes. Just like the finches that build their nest in the airplane plant hanging on the back porch do. Generation after generation. 🌄@@MTetzke

Actually way more common than you think. Crows are super intelligent and very friendly. Make very good pets. They will even mimic you and words like a parrot. 😊 I am up in northern Ontario Canada
I love how you never leave them both unsupervised. Pets are lovely but anything can happen anytime especially when no one is there
I bet the kid fed him. Crows will recognize kindness from individuals and return it with friendship.
I love seeing young children ✨respectfully✨ petting animals
His mother taught him well ❤
A fantastic trick for very young children to touch delicate things (flowers, animals, etc) is 'One Finger Rule'.
It's basically just teaching them to touch with just their first finger so they aren't tempted to grab and crush a delicate leaf or unintentionally hurt the animal. I have pictures of my 2 year old happily touching a butterfly with the one finger rule.
That’s a great idea! If I ever have kids I will implement the one finger rule :)
