I have two of these. One is glossy red and the other one looks like a woody surfboard, both negative display. My wife bought both for me and she wears them too. 😊
Hey Greg love the content. You’ve helped me guide my collection over the years to keep it from getting kind of random and out of control. Thanks again.
I bought the white one for work instead of wearing my D1000 frog. Decided I didn't want to destroy it so bought a normal black band and bezel for it. Bought another white GWX-5600, then also bought the red one. I guess the black one next... 🤷🏻♂️😅
I love G-Shock and living less than 150m away from the ocean I have been wanting to get this model for quite some time but they are not easy to find at a reasonable price.
I'm glad you put the carbon fibre one next to this. Those two have a different band than the typical resin watch band. These two, in my opinion have a much shorter lug-to-lug than the typical squares which have more corrugated stiff sections before they start to flex. I've never seen this noticed or mentioned by anyone but these GLX squares, and the carbon are shorter effective lug to lug. Also, the GLX watches do seem to be perhaps on the way out. There's a newer model which does more surfing features, and the non-solar GLX-5600 seems to be discontinued some time ago nor are there many variants of that available anymore. Good you bought this when you did.
I have this watch.its light doesn't work properly...can it be maintained by the buttons or I have to go to the repair shop?...could you please advise me?
Very nice watch. I like the moon, tide data. I think it sucks that we don`t have a transmitter here in Australia. A problem that needs to be rectified. I`m sure every Aussie G-Shock fan would be behind me on this one.
Ive been looking at this watch for the moon & tide, but i didn't know it had a 2-interval countdown timer. Thats awesome and would be very useful for jogging routines and lab procedures
Mr. Greg Anderson do You have any advice on how to deal with the inevitable feeling of guilt when it comes to multiple choices of awesome Casio watches to wear versus a limited amount of days in a year to wear them, and only a couple of wrists to wear them on? The feeling of not wearing a watch often enough. The ability to enjoy is so disappointingly limited.
You don’t have to feel guilty about that. Personally, I wear a “beater” MTG-900 to work five days a week just because I don’t want my other watches to get beat up too. Then, when I am not at work, I love to chance to wear pretty-much any other watch. I only feel guilty about neglecting a watch when I allow the battery to run out without noticing it right away.
@@GoodTimekeeper See that’s the thing. The one that gets worn most often somehow automatically becomes special because it gets to age alongside You in Your everyday life and earn the proud scuffs and wear marks, telling the story of the man behind the watch. It’s special because it is deemed good enough for everyday use by the wearer. Opposed to the pristine looking timepieces sitting on a shelf or in a drawer somewhere collecting dust. That being said, I still don’t like to notice a scratch on a watch that wasn’t there before. Matter without the interaction of man or soul has a tendency to seem dull. For example Without the narration of Greg Anderson nobody would be watching a livestream of a brand new Casio in a box in a warehouse of Thailand. I suppose I can appreciate a nicely aged watch like a hard cheese. Age has value. 😬 It was nice of You to say I don’t have to feel guilty. I’ll do my best. Thank You Elmer.
Hi, Im surprised my DST didnt work in the uk even though it shows it connected to Multiband 6 and I did a manual connection (level thhee). As a new owner this is a great tutorial. Thanks
Hi. I am speaking from Bangladesh. CASIO Men's GWX-5600-1JF G-Shock G-Lide Tough Solar Radio Controlled Watch JAPAN IMPORT. We are not available here in the shopping mall, now I like this watch very much, now how can I buy it from Bangladesh?
The atomic clock doesn't affect the tide function. To do that you set your nearest location and the tide graph works automatically based on the time of day. I can tell you mine is very accurate as to high and low tide times.
Instead of setting the latitude and longitude you can either select a pre-programmed coastal city (depending on the time zone) or you can go to the tide display, hold the adjust button and change the time when the watch expects high tide.
Kind of a late reply, but I believe you need to set your latitude and longitude coordinates. Those should be listed in the manual in relation to your home city.
Thanks for mentioning this. I was thinking of going with this model, but since there are a bunch of other G-Shocks I want, I might skip this one for now at least.
Not yet. I haven’t given much thought to fitness tracking watches and I am not sure I would like having to connect the watch to a cable for charging. But I will try to have an open mind.
I have one, as long as you leave it on airplane mode it lasts a year between charges…and if you are in the sun it will keep the battery topped up. If you use Bluetooth or the heart rate you’ll have to charge more frequently
I was using a crimping tool to prepare some cables for solar panels and I pinched my fingertip. It’s not a big injury but I had to put on a bandage anyway because if I made a video with that injury on my finger that’s all anyone would think about.
Man there's so many G-Shocks I want... I've discovered a whole new rabbit hole.
It gets worse 😂
@@SanchoNacho Yeah, so...I ended up with quite a few.
Watching the video while wearing the exact same watch
Ditto. Checking to see if you’ll reveal the secret function.
Ditto lol
Im wearing a new omega PO and i want to buy this casio
Wife: "Are you looking at MORE Casio watches on Amazon?!"
Me: "Honey, it's not my fault! Greg made a new video."
😆Thank God for Greg for taking the blame.
whats with the self deprecation?
it's a gorgeous watch. I love it so much i bought 2, one for regular use and another to keep it pristine
Got mine last month, will also buy a second.
I have been an Applewatch and classic watch guy, this is the first G-Shock I am interested in buying 🔥

Seems like G-Glide & Casio 5610u share same light alarm loudness except moon tide graph & EL backlight & aesthetic. Nice review friend🙂
Light alarm loudness? Meaning?
@@DeepakGhan not as audible(loud) as the regular Casio 5600e
Brilliant, thank you for all your reviews! The hard bit is finding my next watch, they’re all so good
Hey Greg love the content. You’ve helped me guide my collection over the years to keep it from getting kind of random and out of control. Thanks again.
I also got it on Amazon. This is my 4th G-Shock and prob my favorite. Thinking of buying one and stashing it for decade before kid turns 18 😅
Thanks for the review, Greg. I had been thinking of you a few days ago and wondering if you had a new review and here it is.

Amazing watch!
I have this watch❤. I modified it by changing the band to a red color and adding a second loop in black😊
Hey Greg I really like your videos you're right to the point no messing around let's get to it excellent video❤
What is the hourly signal? Does that mean it beeps on every hour?
That’s right. It can beep at exactly 12:00, then 1:00, then 2:00, etc.
@@GoodTimekeeper sweet! Thanks bro I think I'm gonna buy this beauty.
Great video!
Can I see the sunrise and sunset?
Sadly, no sunrise and sunset in this. If you need g-lide with it, go with gbx-100 but it doesn't have tough solar and mb6. I have both.
@@khairulamar9523 the problem is: there's no SIG in GBX.

I can't figure out how to get the tide setting to the Oregon coast. It's defaulting be to LA and the water down there. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi, Im surprised my DST didnt work in the uk even though it shows it connected to Multiband 6 and I did a manual connection (level thhee). As a new owner this is a great tutorial. Thanks
Maybe you didn't enable the DST to Auto which will prompt the watch to receive DST information from the MB6 signal.
I have OS one from Japan two yrs ago, LOL still trying to figure it out here in. Anacortes, Wa. Tides 🤷🏼
Just got mine love it
Just ordered one yesterday, got it on sale at 112 bucks.
Does the main watch (not the strap) have a gloss? I’ve seen some of the white hex that look pretty ugly once the gloss starts coming off

Does the watch only receives the current time and date or does it receive the correct tide aswell?

@@GoodTimekeeper Does this watch have a king version/a bigger version?
Not quite. The GW-7900 has a larger display which includes the tide and moon stuff but it doesn’t have the dual-interval countdown.
But then again, there is the GWX-8900... A lot to collect as well😅
Is it me or the EL light on the G-Lide is dimmer than it should be?
It might just be the way my camera was set.
Nice video, and you can put 3215 in dw5600e's case, that would be more splendid

You can scratch the strap, unfortunately, showing the transparent white plastic underneath it.
Good to know.
Ugh really? I thought it would be black plastic all the way through
