A lot of places pool tips and split it at the end of the night so your stellar attitude could have just earned Gena the Bitch $75 in tips. By doing cash you avoid that.

If she thinks she is 'so good' with them, then why didn't Lois just ask the baristas how they decide who gets "Customer of the Week"? For all she knew, they could just draw a random name from a hat. Granted, it would ruin the episode, but still.
There have actually been a lot of cases where dead or missing people were only found because they were regular customers somewhere, and when they stopped showing up every day the employees were worried about them and eventually called the cops. Lots of peoples lives have been saved. People care about you more than you think. They cared enough to report them missing when their own family didn't, even if it's just because they're used to them being there, it's better than nothing.
I remember when I was in high school I drove this girl home after a party. Anyways the ENTIRE drive (like 35 mins) she just never stopped talking. Every time I went to say something she would just keep going..... When I dropped her off at her house she told me I was a great listener and I just remember sitting there and thinking to myself “not like I had a choice”... Watching this made me think of that little memory
