Where can I find these carb brake downs.showing the break down of carbs.
Wow, brilliant explanation for me who don't know the first thing about carburators. The best "how to" video I have ever found. Thank you so much!
Thank you!! I really appreciate it :)
This is exactly what I was looking for. It has saved me a lot of time and effort. Thank you!
I’m so pleased it’s helped! Thank you for
The super thanks once again!! It always makes my day :)
Good video, great explanation. Never before understood how the PulsaJet worked. Thanks.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Very good explanation, thank you. I have two pulsa jets to try and fix.
Greetings from South Africa.
Awesome! Best of luck :)
Those carbs are pretty bulletproof. Thanks for a wonderful video! Looking forward to the next one :-)
Thank you for the kind words!!
Excellent - a really clear and effective video; thank you.
You’re welcome :)
Definitely appreciate you for this video the only one on CZcams..❤❤❤❤❤❤ i just brought my son an f1 kart with this engine thats been sitting awhile and was trying to figure out how it works.
Awesome glad you enjoyed it :)
@@VintageEngineRepairs we're can I buy these older carbs rebuild kits
Nice demonstration Tom, it's good to have this for future reference. 🙂👍
You’re always so kind John haha thanks mate :)
Anytime brother, just call it like I see it. 👍
@@Big_Johns thank you mate :)
Thank you. I replaced the diaphragm and the passages "looked" to be clog free but I didn't check the main jet and the engine is "hunting" (surging) and I have to run it with the choke halfway closed. I'll take it off again and be more thorough. Great tips!
Doesn’t hurt to go over it again :)
@@VintageEngineRepairs gonna do that this weekend, lol. :)
@@VintageEngineRepairs went over it again, this time cleaning out all passages again AND main jet. Problem solved. I'm a little disappointed in myself because I usually am more thorough than I was this first time around.
Thanks!
Thank you very much for the super thanks!! So pleased you enjoyed the video :)
Hi Tom, Excellent video, well explained 👌👌👍👍
Thanks Nev!
Good one Tom 👍👍
Thank you Claus! :)
Well explained and well done video Tom. I have heard these fuel tanks may no longer available so if true hold on to any you can find.
Thanks Wayne, good to know :)
I have this carb on an older 5hp Briggs. It runs, but I can't get the diaphragm cover to stop leaking. Thought at first it was the new Chinese diaphragm I had installed, so got an OEM Briggs one which didn't leak as bad, but still leaking. Next took the diaphragm cover off and found it was slightly warped (probably from muffler heat), so sanded it smooth with sandpaper on a piece of glass and got it flat. Still leaks and don't know where to go next???
Hey, flatten both sides :) why they never used a gasket on them I don’t know, but that said, none of mine have leaked so it does work I guess!
Can you post the link of where you got the manual to adjust the carburetor?
It would have just been a google search
My carb pumps from tank to bowl and then floods carb any idea why it wont spray into the engine
I cleaned the carb with carb cleaner and every hole is clean and clear . Any info woukd be appreciated thanks
Hmm interesting, when you say floods the carb, how can you tell? What are the signs and symptoms? It could be an engine timing issue blowing air back through the intake?
The air filter tray is off and can see fuel puddle in carb, i was thinking might be timing or valve clearance issue. Want try easier way first. Any chance might be the needle jet bot set properly or governor rod not working. I fix my own stuff and not a professional I thank you for responding
where abouts on the linkage arms should the throttle cable be attached? thanks
I’m afraid I can’t remember, it was such a long time ago!
Good luck on those!
Still looking for throttle cable connection. I took a photo yesterday before I stripped. Sorry don't know how to put it up here. Can mail.
Hard to find the pickup tubes now
Any place to get them ???
Use some brass tubing, epoxy them in place :)
I have one of these carbs which I cleaned up but after sitting for a couple days it will not start unless I prime it with some carb cleaner? Once started it restarts great all day long. Any ideas on what I missed??
Hey :) And you’re putting the choke on correct?
@@VintageEngineRepairs yes I did
@louhudon gotcha, you can try give it more fuel, or you may have an air leak somewhere.
good work mate are you based in adelaide?
Perth mate :) you?
Very useful vid but why brake cleaner and not carb cleaner?
You can do :) generally I decide depending on the condition of the carb. Just be careful with carb cleaner on o-rings and rubber parts!
Guessing I have an older carb but no jet seems to be either removable or shown on part diagram, only the screw and spring. Have you come across one of these before? Tried to upload a pic but CZcams won’t allow.
Yes :) not all main jets or emulsion tubes are removable!
I've yet to play with one of these carbs. What kind of machine did they come on? Fascinating.
These were very common on Briggs flathead engines from 70’s - 90’s era :)
you can use crazy glue to seal it gas won't dissolve it
Thanks for sharing 👍
The main reason why Briggs & Stratton made the pulse carburetor, was as the fuel tank gets low on fuel it leans out the engine. So this was a great sick so the engine would run at the same amount of fuel no matter how much she was in the bigger tank that pump the gas into little bowl that had inside the big tank.
They’re a great concept :) simple and reliable!
