    Three years later and this is still the most informative and best video out there covering the stands. Thank you! One tip, your thumbnail here is rather lackluster and does not draw attention to this quality video.

    Great review good looking stands clearly not your run of the mill stands, finish wise possibly white but the ones in the video are unique so I'd have that finish just to be different.

    studio grade monitors with two transducers are designed for ears to be equidistant from woofer and tweeter. Lining your ears up with the tweeters will create phase issues where the two elements have overlapping freq response . Always check your manufactures manual for intended listening area!

    How might I get the larger wood top plate? Are the plates available separately? Thanks.

    I just got a pair of SS6. The whole in the bottom for the spikes is so small (and apparently the only openings) that I can't find a funnel small enough to use for pouring sand in. What size buck shot do you suggest (as shown on in use on your video) and how do you suggest I infill the tubes? Thanks in advance.

      I created a funnel using paper but it is not a perfect process, you have to go very slow due to the small size of the opening. I also suggest putting a towel or drop cloth under the stand to catch anything that doesn't make its way into the stand. Even the smallest shot you can buy will be more difficult than sand so I would stick with clean fine grain sand.

    Love the stands, they're probably the only part of my system I'll never replace! Just don't understand why they have optional spike discs but won't sell them in either a 3 or 6 pack - very annoying.

    Can you please comment on cord management with this stand? I don't see anything on the stand to make speaker cords more discrete..

      You can use cable ties to tidy up the cable.

    Still no answer on how to fill the stands?

    • @mofidistribution
      @mofidistribution  Před 3 lety

      The stands can be filled through the threaded inserts for the spikes. I used very small gauge lead shot, but it would be easier to use sand.

    i mean that’s brazing, not welding…. but it sticks the metal together ok

    U need 2 get ur facts straight my friend. I bought the SS-5's because u said they were 24 inches, now I have 2 return them because they're only 20.5 inches. If Solidsteel gave u that info they should be ashamed. Smh

      Apologies for misstating the heights. You are correct that they are available in 21, 24, and 28. Hopefully the retailer you ordered them from is able to take care of getting you the SS-6 instead.

    You still have to fill these?! Why are they called solid steel then?, I nearly bought a pair of these thinking that they would be genuinely solid, glad I didn't.

  • @Campbell1.

    Unfortunately these are NOT solid steel , but hollow, and should change their name to something less misleading

    No way! Real Italians made these?! Oh, that totally justifies the price. Lord knows the Italians are known for reliable engineering! Look at Lamborghini, Maserati, and Ferrari for example.
