HP needs to show on the web-site, excellent overview of how serviceable the units have become and about time. But as one commentor said needs to reassemble and fire up.
The Z1 was shown at a recent Solidworks conference in Westford MA, was dismantled and put back together in a similar manner and refired.
HP needs to place a prox sensor to shut of the internal power if the cover is opened/removed, so no one gets any sort of electrical shock, even though majority of components are low volt DC.

The one thing that HP failed on is making it virtually impossible to remove the right hand side panel with their glue. When you need to replace any of the cables behind the motherboard panel, you are forced to remove the security screws and then force the panel up off of the slides that hold it in place. The glue they use to keep the panel in make it difficult and the soft metal of the panel can be damaged when attempting to force it off.

Just dissembled a Z800, However it had several screws mounted on the motherboard. I noticed your demo didn't show that.

I have one with a 5687 and one Sapphire Radeon 7950 (which I overclock the crap out of) and this case is able to keep my gpu under 65C while playing forza 6 2560x1440 on Ultra(48-60FPS) . I had to hack a Noctua heatsink on it but it worked....and my max cpu temp on my 5th run of cine-bench was 64C(well below its max operating temp). though I do have to scale down to 1080P on ultra when drivitars are greater than

Thanks for uploading this video. Very useful for me. I am building a HP Z820. I bought the chassis and the motherboard separately. My next step is to find the best dual Xeon processors that will work with the motherboard. Any help will be appreciated.

If you have the performance heatsink, your best choice for Z800 is the Xeon X5690, if you dont have the performance heat sinks, maximum tdp is 95W, limits you to the Xeon X5670.

@@GOLTURBO555 The stock heatsinks can handle the 5690 but run hot, mine runs custom liquid cooling, but you can also use two aio coolers. The holes line up with the AM4 holes

@@crapcopter Thanks for the tip. I've tried to run the X5680 and run 90ºC at idle... I need to change to the 5670, and im waiting the HP heatsinks. The reason why I bought it, its because I want to keep the memory coolers. Thanks man.

I won that workstation for $26 on Ebay with top configuration (1120W power supply). The most disadvantage of it is high power cosuming (1 kWt/hour in load)

maybe damaged cpu pin....if you bought your 5690 from a reputable dealer....then I doubt the 5690 is the problem.
