- While looking through old games from my childhood, I stumbled upon the abandonware SimTunes, a music-painting game developed by the late Maxis corporation (who were also responsible for titles from the era like The Sims and SimCity), and figured that I would throw it on a VM and muck around with it. Six hours of work later and I had meticulously arranged Megalovania in SimTunes, and now it is here on CZcams for all to enjoy(?).

There was a certain youtuber composer I watched a while ago who always danced his cursor around whenever he played his tracks. I can't remember what his name was, but I can't say I didn't take inspiration from him, haha!

@@AbrahamLure It's a bit weird that it's so unknown, having known Sim games so prominently as a kid. Then again, I don't remember **ever** playing SimIsle or SimEarth as a kid, except a handful of times. I didn't know what I was doing.

I downloaded the ISO from archive.org but I can't install. I want to try this game.
I suggest running it in a virtual machine for an older version of Windows. This game is very old, I don't even think it will run properly on Windows 10 since there is no longer support for 16-bit applications.
Personally, I use Oracle VM VirtualBox for virtual machines, it's free to use and has more free features than VMWare. I recorded this video of the game running inside a Windows XP virtual machine. You can find ISO files of the Windows XP install online, and setting a VM up with VirtualBox is fairly simple to do. Best of luck.

does this game even work on windows 10?
Not that I know of. I ran it inside of a VirtualBox Windows XP virtual machine.
