I stumbled into this movie on Netflix many years ago without knowing I was about to watch one of the most powerful, moving, and cinematographic war movies ever made.

This is not my only favorite movie but my favorite Vietnam movie of all time. They put so much effort into it and I am internally grateful. May God bless those.

A very moving portrayal of the battle. As ever its about the men to your right and to your left. Heartbreaking.

Remarkable movie, one that you can not enjoy but appreciate beyond words the effort of telling the they story of what it was like being there as much as you can in a movie. Every time I see it I notice something new and it always makes me think.

I don't care if you served for 3 months, 3 years or were a lifer. When you join any branch of service, the love and bond is unlike any other you will ever experience.

Loved the movie and the Historical Accuracy, right up until the final battle scene when all the Vietnamese lined up to get shot down by the hovering Huey's. That NEVER happened, and it is an INSULT to those who fought and died there to pretend there was a "Win" in the column, for either force.

welp even if it did not happen it was one of the most emotional scenes and one of the best but just cause your former military doesnt mean you get the right to say its an insult ......... and your tours????? were they in vietnam????

@@brodieelement3284 actually that he is retired from the Military and that the movie goes way out of bounds on the "final charge" he is absolutely within his right, as retired military to be insulted by the scene. The scene is total BS for several reasons. Who are you to say how he can feel about a scene in a movie.
You literally have no clue. Let's start with the fact that you call him former Military....There is no such thing as "Former Military" Once a Soldier always a Soldier.
Your opinion of a scene in a movie "based on a real story" regardless of how cool you think it was is meaningless to that of a retired Military man who is insulted by the liberties taken by the director....Even if it did not happen?.... Let me clarify the final charge never happened. Huey's did not have fixed mini-guns in 1965 and Crandall and Freeman were awarded the MOH for flying in and out of a Hot LZ with nothing to protect them but their door gunners. Hopefully this doesn't insult you as an avid movie fan as it WOULD insult a Veteran.

@@adamr6794 The only people that should be insulted, are those on THAT battlefield. I tell you, this current generation of veteran CZcams commentators are so different than any other generation. I never heard a single WWII vet get hellbent about any WWII movie.

The love for one another the basic truths has and was always greatly exaggerated deeply, most U.S. troops actually hated one another and hated the service,no wonder no movie ever captured so called basic truths of love for one another.
