The only thing I would add, is that when it comes to day dreaming about a future husband, I have gone through phases where it has become an obsessive thing for me and has caused marriage to become a bit of an idol, thus I try and avoid dwelling on day dreams too often to avoid falling into that problem ☺️❤️
This is just my two cents on question 7 (I think... about the guy who she thought God was giving her peace about but he ended up with someone else) I feel the first thing that came to me about this was that God was showing her the values or characteristics etc that she values in a person and what to look for potentially. That she felt peace with Him because God was like “this is a good guy, I know you like a lot of aspects about Him” and one day she might find someone with similar traits or morals etc. kinda like going into a car dealership and finding your dream car but you don’t take the display model. You just figure out that type of car is the one you want to buy :)

YES! Learn how to love others no matter what season you are in! I feel like it frees us to be healthy and to learn to love more than our (future spouse). We will always have multiple relationships so let's learn to take care of others. James is super wise! Thanks to you both!
One thing that has helped me: If you're praying about a spouse, trust that God hears you. He hears, and He cares. "Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares about you." He cares about the things you care about and doesn't think this desire is silly. He is after all, the one who said it is not good for man to be alone. Rest in Him and in His love. Yes, follow good advice but know that your situation is unique, and only God can truly understand you, so keep seeking Him. He may be trying to teach you something in the seeking.
YES!!!! Love the celebrate others in where they are at in life but also celebrate where you are at in life. Sometimes I can get disappointed about relationships or lack thereof in my life but then I remember all that I have had the opportunity to do. Things I don’t know would have been possible had I been in a relationship. I was able to save money, being able to go to college and try different classes, volunteer for weeks at a time, etc. so many fun things worth celebrating! Thanks for the vid!!!

Thank you for this video. There are definitely some struggles with singleness, especially when you’re well into your 30’s. I’m so glad you’re talking about this and not just telling us to just be “content.”
Yes, being singe in your early 20's or even mid/late twenties is one thing. Being in one's 30's and near 40's, however, is a struggle/trial of an entirely different nature. The battle that two 21 year-old virgins face to remain pure before getting married at 22 is nothing compared to the battle 35+ year-old virgins face while struggling for years upon years living a life completely devoid of sexual expression (that is not sinful) and romantic affection/intimacy. And seeing other, younger people in the church who lived sexually promiscuous lives, who were not virgins, but who nonetheless end up being blessed with a spouse makes one question what, exactly, the rules are. It is very easy to feel forgotten, passed over, angry, bitter, frustrated, and hopeless. And when those spiritual poisons pervade the heart, sin is easily and readily committed. Ultimately, it comes down to faith and endurance in trials, as we read in James 1. But yes, it is a painful, difficult thing. We know that the Lord directs our lives and loves us. But C.S. Lewis said it best when he wrote, "“We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.”

I hope this can encourage you : I was chatting with a friend (she's single and just turned 40! She loves her singleness though and she lives for the church.). She told me something along the line of "you don't want to become the friend everyone feels bad about inviting to baby showers and wedding and even dinner parties just because there are couples there." And I realised that I did in fact want to still be part of all of those things. I don't want to miss out. I want people around me to celebrate with me when I finally get in a relationship. I don't want to lose those friendships while I'm waiting because I'm only looking at my discomfort and never at their joy. I'm still sad. I'm still depressed about my loneliness at times. But I refuse to not celebrate others!! And in part because I refuse to be alone when it will be my turn but also because those relationships are amazing God given gifts. Take care xo (BTW : the past 30 days I saw 3 friends getting engaged and 4 couples announce pregnancy... oh and also 3 of my friends gave birth this summer!)

Hi Tiffany, thank you and James so much for this video. I loved it!! I was wondering, could you one day address the question of dating between a Catholic and a Christian? I have recently started falling for this guy and he has confessed that he likes me too. But he is Catholic and my church is very serious about theology (which is so important!). He is a person who has an amazing character but most importantly he does love God - even if some of his understanding is different from the reformed theology because he was brought up in a Catholic household. I am just so fearful of the backlash that I will receive if we do start dating and feeling a lot of anxiety from all this. Would really appreciate and love you and James's godly advice!
Oh wow that's an AMAZING question!!! Personally I have no problem with that. In my mind, every denomination is different, and each one has parts that are inaccurate as well as parts that are awesome. The important thing is that the person has a real relationship with God and wants to continue growing in that. James and I have different theological beliefs in certain areas. We've shared some on this channel and probably will share more in the future. But that's only made our relationship stronger, because we both learn from and respect each other's beliefs in those areas, even when we disagree. We also did marriage counseling with a Catholic couple, who we learned so much from and they were amazing Christians! So I guess... this is definitely an oversimplified answer... but I personally think evangelical churches overreact to this kind of thing. You probably will get some backlash, and you'd have to decide if that would be worth it. And you'll definitely want to find an older, wiser couple who can meet with you guys and get to know you as a couple and speak more unbiasedly into your relationship (I recommend that to every couple). But I hope these thoughts (aka, my personal opinion lol) can help in some way!

I hope this can encourage you : I was chatting with a friend (she's single and just turned 40! She loves her singleness though and she lives for the church.). She told me something along the line of "you don't want to become the friend everyone feels bad about inviting to baby showers and wedding and even dinner parties just because there are couples there." And I realised that I did in fact want to still be part of all of those things. I don't want to miss out. I want people around me to celebrate with me when I finally get in a relationship. I don't want to lose those friendships while I'm waiting because I'm only looking at my discomfort and never at their joy. I'm still sad. I'm still depressed about my loneliness at times. But I refuse to not celebrate others!! And in part because I refuse to be alone when it will be my turn but also because those relationships are amazing God given gifts.

Hi Tiffany, thank you and James so much for this video. I loved it!! I was wondering, could you one day address the question of dating between a Catholic and a Christian? I have recently started falling for this guy and he has confessed that he likes me too. But he is Catholic and my church is very serious about theology (which is so important!). He is a person who has an amazing character but most importantly he does love God - even if some of his understanding is different from the reformed theology because he was brought up in a Catholic household. I am just so fearful of the backlash that I will receive if we do start dating and feeling a lot of anxiety from all this. Would really appreciate and love you and James's godly advice!
Oh wow that's an AMAZING question!!! Personally I have no problem with that. In my mind, every denomination is different, and each one has parts that are inaccurate as well as parts that are awesome. The important thing is that the person has a real relationship with God and wants to continue growing in that. James and I have different theological beliefs in certain areas. We've shared some on this channel and probably will share more in the future. But that's only made our relationship stronger, because we both learn from and respect each other's beliefs in those areas, even when we disagree. We also did marriage counseling with a Catholic couple, who we learned so much from and they were amazing Christians! So I guess... this is definitely an oversimplified answer... but I personally think evangelical churches overreact to this kind of thing. You probably will get some backlash, and you'd have to decide if that would be worth it. And you'll definitely want to find an older, wiser couple who can meet with you guys and get to know you as a couple and speak more unbiasedly into your relationship (I recommend that to every couple). But I hope these thoughts (aka, my personal opinion lol) can help in some way!
