    I wish more doctors and physicians understood this and taught it to their patients. So many don't know anything about it, will just prescribe daily finasteride (unnecessary) and say it should be taken at the same time every day. Appreciate your work so much on this and bringing this info to so much of the public.

    This is the only hairloss channel that I trust. Many others just are just full of clickbaits and just want the views, gain more subscribers, or sneakily want to brainwash you and promote a product or a clinic. The best thing about this channel is the sources we have here are doctors who have years and years of experience, not some successful hair transplant patient teaching how he got his hair back or a pseudo-balding person who isn't really balding in the first place but acts like he's balding, like buzzing off his head to make it seem he's thinning, to promote products to make it seem it's working. I've seen it all. Been in to the hair loss war since 2015, this is the only channel I trust.

    Great video as always from this doctor, respect. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, I learned the hard way that this drug can really affect one's mood. These days I take 1 mg every third to fourth day, and use topical minoxidil/finasteride the other days. Seems to be working, and my mood although not always great, is definitely better these days. I am taking prozac as well, and hope that taking the two drugs together continues to work for both my hair and mental health.

    After watching this channel I did take finasteride for several months in the beginning I noticed less hair loss but after 3-4 months my body stopped reacting to it so I had to increase the dosage as I did it I noticed that my s3x drive went down and also heard that it could increase the risk of getting high grade cancer, eventually stopped taking it and then my hair started shedding, I ended up losing more hair so I regret it now.

    I've heard that the half life of finasteride in the hair follicle is much longer than the half life in blood. Is this perhaps what you mean when you talk about the effect on the enzyme being very long? Finasteride is a noncovalent drug, so the effect on the enzyme should be proportional to concentration in the near vicinity of the enzyme.

    Hello friends,
    I am 26 years old and started to loose my hair with 19.
    I would like to start with fin 1 mg per day and asked myself if it could have an impact to my beard growth, because DHT is a mainly factor to growth a beard, right?
    I mean I don’t think that my beard is complete finished to grow, and I don’t really want to sabotage the growth or more worse to lose some of it.
    What do you think, does someone have similar experience ?

    • @Mercurial_Phantom
      @Mercurial_Phantom Před 10 měsíci +1

      1 year on 1mg. No change on beard. Take fin for 1 year then get oral minoxidil if you can, will boost hair everywhere, then you can also microneedle your beard for more stimulation.

      In addition, since you said you have hair loss since 19, maybe protecting your left over hair is more important than squeezing the last bit out of your beard. The only thing DHT will help is transition the vellus hair into terminal hair, so everything you already have will not be reversed

      I take 0.5mg every day, but have played around with different doses over the years. It all depends on how aggressive the hair loss is, if it’s not bad, then just a small amount can be enough to suppress the DHT levels, but it’s an individual thing, so play around with doses and see, but you need 3 months really to see. 3mg a week seems to be ideal for a lot of people, but some need a bit more, but as I said it depends on the level of hair loss.
