    The 3rd set is drama
    1. 1:01:40 Juhl pushes away Matsutomo racquet and gets a warning
    2. 1:03:03 Double hit by Pedersen, complained by the Japanese pair. Im surprised the umpire didnt see that. The Japanese pair stopped playing because they can see it too.
    3. 1:13:35 The last point that the Danish pair will win. They were up 19 - 16 and ended up losing five straight points 19 - 21. At 1:15:03 they even tried to stop the Japanese pairs' momentum, but the Japanese were so calm and composed towards the end of the match.

    • @_RoseDawson_
      @_RoseDawson_ Před 2 lety +5

      She retired because (according to the media) she got married in 2020,
      But I think the main reason is because, Japan already has a lot of WD top pairs...
      And if you think about it,
      This is the fault of Olympic Qualifying Rules;
      The Olympics only allow max of 2 pairs from each country ,
      And not only that,
      If 2 pairs were to be registered
      Those pairs must both be in the top 8 of the world ranking.....
      Again, of you think about it--
      This is very unfair for those players get to be disqualified because the limit (of 2 pairs) has already been reached.
      Imagine allowing those mediocre players to participate in the Olympics.
      This makes Olympics difficulty level much much lower as compared to super 1000 (or even super 750) events.
      This is why, no matter what's highly covetted Olympics is
      I don't have the highest respects to those who win it.
      Cus again
      The qualification rule is very broken.
      I would rather praise those who remain world number 1 for a long time than those who win Olympics
      LoL

    Peder/Rytter pair, who saw the gold medal, was nervous.
    On the other hand, the pair of Taka/Matsu, was reopened.

    The Japanese girls produced a couple of really bold cross court smashes to close out the third set. That's putting it on the line for the win. The cross court smash can be a huge surprise in doubles, but it can also open you up to the straight defensive drive reply that will strand both partners. Takes guts to go for that with so much on the line, and make it stick.
