A game that clearly shows the politeness of the Japanese pair.
Definitely, that game also showed the hard work and determination of the Danes as well. Congratulations to all four of them for making it this far.
@@goldenhawk9322 It is true that the Danish pair lacked courtesy. But as an athlete, it's natural to be greedy to win, so I won't say any more.
@@goldenhawk9322 japan won 😁
Agreed ! Unprofessional player by danish..poor attitude
I absolutely agree.
Misaki is so innocent. Even when the Danish player mock her racquet, she's like giggling. Cute personality and pure soul ❤️
Didn't she just lightly push it away? Not that big deal I think
@@user-sy4xg1zz8r That's humble Japanese attitude. That's what they've been taught since they were kids.
No... She smacked the racket away. Bad attitude. Arrogant... First losers
@@dangutube5420 agree. Its very unbecoming and unprofessional.
Even more satisfying to see the Danes lose and the Japanese win.
The 3rd set is drama
1. 1:01:40 Juhl pushes away Matsutomo racquet and gets a warning
2. 1:03:03 Double hit by Pedersen, complained by the Japanese pair. Im surprised the umpire didnt see that. The Japanese pair stopped playing because they can see it too.
3. 1:13:35 The last point that the Danish pair will win. They were up 19 - 16 and ended up losing five straight points 19 - 21. At 1:15:03 they even tried to stop the Japanese pairs' momentum, but the Japanese were so calm and composed towards the end of the match.
The Japanese were so cool especially matsutomo .she is so sweet.on the other hand the danish pair was way arrogant and overconfident.thats why they lost the match very badly. If they kept humble they could won
It's clearly double hit by Pedersen but she didn't have enough sportsmanship to admit that. Glad to see they lost at the end
@@mrsimon8403 I totally agree with you. And the Danish pair's attitude was impolite.
may I ask what's the issue during the first set? when the Danish pair complained through the umpire although its totally clear that the shot was out..
even with the umpire's help they couldn't win lol.
"The moment I started questioning my ability to win gold, I knew it was time." - Takahashi. Just reliving this awesome Rio moment cos it's sad to miss Takahashi in Tokyo Olympics. What a legend.
Well,.she got olympic gold so at least she retired with pride!!
She retired after Rio
@@micheledwardmaravilla591 no, she retired in 2020.
She retired in 2020. After Rio they won many World Championships together
She retired because (according to the media) she got married in 2020,
But I think the main reason is because, Japan already has a lot of WD top pairs...
And if you think about it,
This is the fault of Olympic Qualifying Rules;
The Olympics only allow max of 2 pairs from each country ,
And not only that,
If 2 pairs were to be registered
Those pairs must both be in the top 8 of the world ranking.....
Again, of you think about it--
This is very unfair for those players get to be disqualified because the limit (of 2 pairs) has already been reached.
Imagine allowing those mediocre players to participate in the Olympics.
This makes Olympics difficulty level much much lower as compared to super 1000 (or even super 750) events.
This is why, no matter what's highly covetted Olympics is
I don't have the highest respects to those who win it.
Cus again
The qualification rule is very broken.
I would rather praise those who remain world number 1 for a long time than those who win Olympics
LoL
She got a point from a double hit and lost 5 points. Fair enough.
thats Karma
Iyes, bener banget, ikutan puas liatnya 🤣🤣
They will get the karma x10
LOL
watching the last 5 points go to the japanese girls to win them their gold medal was the most satisfying thing ever
Trueee
I replayed it many times and I am crying for them. They really deserved it 😍❤
Thanks for spoiler
It’s satisfying knowing that they were actually cheated on & was boasted. Well deserved!
@@user-cs1yq4qd4o the Danish cheated?
I am so glad that the Japanese pair won. Everybody but the umpirer saw Pederson's clear double hit in the third set. The umpirer was either corrupted or just simply poor. But as a Dane, I am ashamed of the unsportmanship of Pederson-Juhl. They are generally recognized as cheaters in the global badminton circles - and rightfully so.
That’s really honest if you
Seriously, it was such poor sportsmanship to not admit to such an obvious double hit.
Cheater juhl
I fully agree with your whole comment..
I thought all Denmark ppl would be like that but you cleared my doubt.
As a Olympic player juhl and pederson should know that they are representing the country from where they come. Such bad sportsmanship and cheating celebration
The bad part was that, even they celebrated the double hit
Every time I watch this, I just can't shed my tears but feel so proud of the Japanese pair how beautifully they played, how calm and composed they could be. Salute Misaki/Ayaka. The history has been made. Tokyo 2020 will be missed.
This is in 2020?
They played extremely well.
This was in rio 2016 not tokyo 2020. Also stop cringing so hard bhai tu nepali hai
@@SR-ri5br Please, re-read what I wrote and when I commented before commenting anything absurd about others.
This is the best badminton match with a legendary comeback..these Japanese players will always remain in our hearts...
This pair has made Japan , super power in women's double event....
Decent Boy that's the truth love you both players
The japanese Takahashi can't control her feelings tears in her eyes. Love from India. ❤️❤️. Proud moment for Japan
Happy for japan coz they are friends... Luv from India
They were both in tears of joy when the national anthem started playing. The best moment of their career (may even be the best of their lives). Love them so much.
Abe India me toh medal aate he nahi 😭😭😭😭
Ab satwik chirag ke baare hai Paris Olympics me
Among the greatest comeback in any Olympic finals. Smaller in physical stature but with gigantic mental courage!
agree
Still watching in 2021. Disgraceful Danes. I don't even need to watch their prior matches and they give off bully vibes. Takahashi Matsutomo totally deserving and earned the gold win. Speaks volumes of their sportsmanship
the Japanese pair brings me to tear, Misaki and Ayaka always the best pairs of all time for me.
Goodbye Ayaka Takashi, such an inspiration and enigma, talent and perseverance, always a champion such an honour to have her grace the courts. They've won the Olympic gold and there are a plethora of young Japanese players, so the next generation can continue what they started
Did she retire ?
@@fathimafathi4195 Yes she was due to play in Tokyo 2020 but due to the unfortunate Pandemic which postponed the Olympics and subsequent high number of Japanese Doubles Players, she decided to retire to pave way for the younger generation
@@tenzinsamphel4763 oh that's really nice ! She looks really young here in the video so I was confused.
Watching this match over and over again and still gives me goosebumps. Happy retirement, Ayaka Takahashi! Thank you for letting us witness your biggest achievement in your badminton career. I will definitely miss you on court together with Misaki Matsutomo! Soar high to my favourite womens duo 💕
What happened to her? She retire?
@@achmadrahman4890 yep.
Just had her first baby.
For me, the last 5 points always described the 'Misaki Magic'. Since watching this game live until now, it's still one of my best moments in WD.
The Danish thought they could bully their way into a win. The Japanese kept their cool and didn't break down even when their opponents got on a roll. They showed divine courage and mental strength to play bold moves when down 19-16. I cried with them. My love and respect for Japanese people just increased. Love from India.
They bullied the little japanese to intimidate them because they cannot do it in the men’s , they wont even come close to the top 50 if they decided to join the men’s category.
It’s 2022 and I have watched it twice. Still crying for misaki and ayaka victory. So cute, so polite. They deserved to win
I waiting this for 4 years,
Finally it’s on youtube 😭
Love this match so much when Taka/Matsu comeback and get the gold medal
coz I’m a big fan of this pair!
Satinon Nunurak yes, I like this Japanese pair too, especially their attitude on court
I have been waiting for it too, finally!!!
Me in 2020 : still crying look how Misaya bring the japanese new hope in badminton..
even the asians are small in size, but they are huge in spirit.💯
Small size? Lolz

The Danes have no legacy, always subpar
Japanese people are very polite. Im glad they won this game.

The real epic comeback, what a brilliant players 👏
Until today, this has got to be one of the best comebacks and game I’ve seen. Really miss watching this duo but supporting Misaki in XD all the way 💖
I play badminton casually weekly. But this quarantine makes me sad and stuck at home. Miss the court and smashes so much! Btw, i jump in my bed when JPN made it to the game point. They win the medals and of course our hearts ❤️❤️
Quando vi a dupla japonesa chorando na cerimônia de premiação, acho que foi uma medalha de ouro que superei várias coisas.
Ao mesmo tempo, o hino nacional do Japão é realmente o melhor!
Love the Japanese pair. They were so calm.

So happy that Matsutomo-san and Takahashi-san triumphed. I find the Dane duo quite overbearing and undeserving had they won the match.

I've been waiting for this. Thanks a lot for uploading
Since 19-16
Peder/Rytter pair, who saw the gold medal, was nervous.
On the other hand, the pair of Taka/Matsu, was reopened.
Finally, looking at the three groups who went up to the same stage,
You can see how small the Japanese pair was.
wow, thanks olympic for upload this match😍😍😍
perhaps the best female double olympic final. 2 totally different style performed at their best in this super tight game
We never question the Japanese’s mental strength!
Gill questioned!
because it's made from japan
It takes a long time though for they to become like this. Look at their final asian game 2014, they lose in mental game so hard. But that's a winner spirit, coming back from where you're down to the top.

Great comeback by the Japanese pair after 16-19 to win the match!!🙅🙅
Thanks a lot, Olympic. 🙏
Misaki matsutomo/ataka takahashi my fav player..the best players
The Japanese girls produced a couple of really bold cross court smashes to close out the third set. That's putting it on the line for the win. The cross court smash can be a huge surprise in doubles, but it can also open you up to the straight defensive drive reply that will strand both partners. Takes guts to go for that with so much on the line, and make it stick.
Very happy for the Japanese players. They both are one of my favorite players.
Love you japan...❤️
Being humble always win❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ love from Nagaland.👍
at point 19 showing too eager to win but end up crying... and nail into memory for life. Great Japanese!!
