    I used to complain about moving 52100 under the hammer until I started forging stainless. It's like butter comparatively. That stainless hates to move. Nice to see others doing a similar process. Looks great.

    Nice work! What kind of stainless steel did you use? And the heat treat would have been really interesting. How did you go along for it?

      To get it workable I let it soak at 1375° for an hour, and let it cool down slowly in the oven over nite... Then after I profile grind, and drill what holes I need, I coat it in a anti-scale clay. Put it in the over at around 1000° and let it ramp up to 1500 and soak for 5 minutes. Then ramps to 1925 as fast as my oven will do it, hold and quench in a big tank of parks AAA. Then I toss it in the freezer for a few hours... Then I temper 2 times for 2 hours at 350.

      @@HadrianusRexus were not smart enough to use anything but fahrenheit here in the states 😂🤦‍♂️
