No it wasn't. There were 12 lines before he made it to the intersection. Federal guidelines for all roadways state that every time you pass a yellow line you have gone 40 feet. That dude had 480 feet from when you can see the car pulling out until he crossed the intersection. There was plenty of time and space. The car was out of his way before he was even 200 feet from it. As A cyclist I understand the frustration from being ignored when signaling for someone to wait to pass... On the other hand, given that it's a bike that doesn't even need to leave the lane to do so, I wouldn't have signaled as such in that particular situation. Emotions were clearly running high on both sides, but the cyclist is far less justified in this case from my perspective.

I didn't understand what got into Nutz Rider's panties--he surprised the pedestrian, the pedestrian made a comment and kept walking, and then he decided to follow him down, riding on the sidewalk no less, to continue the non-argument. I was hoping the guy would smack him with his umbrella!

i ride but one thing that drives me crazy about some of my fellow riders is when they get mad if any other vehicle trys to over take them... if you all want to bs then get in the right lane let van pass dont get mad when he uses his binkers and move to the right lane gets space to over take...he did nothing wrong speeding up and trying to control traffic is more dnagerous then just letting dude pass...
