- Hello, my name is Melody! And this is my entry for the Be More Chill Michael in the Bathroom Contest.
When I found out about this contest I knew that I had to participate. If you know me then you know that I am absolutely OBSESSED with Be More Chill. It is my favorite musical of all time, and it has helped me through a lot of rough times. Also, Michael is my favorite character in the show (and the love of my life lol), and Michael in the Bathroom is my favorite song. So I was pretty ecstatic when I saw this contest, haha!
If you’re wondering: Did she actually cry during the song? The answer is yes. I did actually cry. I’m a gross crier ha! But this song is very relatable to me as it is for so many other people. We all know what it’s like to be alone, to feel abandoned. And if it’s because of a best friend, then that can just be one of the worst feelings in the world. So yes, this song makes me really emotional, but honestly I think that it’s a good thing. Music is a great way to let feelings out. Singing has always been a strong coping method for me. And sometimes you just need a good cry.
I’m glad that this video could be my first face reveal on my channel. This song means so much to me, you have no idea.
I just wanted to give a big thanks to my best friends in the world who helped me out with this video. The awesome sweater was all thanks to Alexa, who couldn’t be there physically during filming because she was very sick, but she was there in spirit! The amazing knocks on the door were all thanks to the amazing Kenzie. And finally the owner of the house we filmed at, the camera girl, and the editor for the video was my girl Holly! Holly has been on my channel before, so you might remember her. Seriously girl, thank you for everything! You did so much for me. Thank you to all 3 of you. The endless amount of support and help I get from you guys is incredible. My obsession with Be More Chill may be really extreme and sometimes annoying, but I’m glad that you 3 can sing along to the songs with me. I love you guys so much and this video would be nothing without your help. Thank you!
I pitched up the instrumental so it was in the same key as the original recording, because I think that the original key sounds better for my voice. The instrumental I used can be found on the contest website.

You sound so pretty! I'd say you might wanna try making the songs seem more natural to your voice, your trying really hard to hit the exact notes Michael hits which your voice wasn't made for and it's hitting it's lowest while your still trying to go lower and it vibrates and sounds awkward. But on the "Michael flying solo" part it was beautiful! You sounded amazing. But your also trying to hold onto the words for too long, dragging them out and causing it to bounce a bit awkwardly. But other than those two which are very easy to fix, I have nothing more to say other than you did amazing! Wouldn't be surprised to find you in the top!
