  • Here’s the RIGHT way to cast a popping cork without getting tangled!!!
    There are so many ways for the system to wrap itself or get tangled, especially if you’re casts aren’t right.

    I use a 7'6 st croix mojo inshore medium light and it's my main go to for a popping cork. 25lb leader 24-28 inches long

    Actually the most important element of a tangle free cast with a cork is both a smooth back and forward action of the cast. 45 degree angle of the rod is best but I’ve seen people perfect even an overhead cast. Also, depths beyond 30” are not an issue when proper casting techniques are employed. Change your depths people, it’s a very important part of cork fishing.

    Video tip: your video is way overexposed and that makes it impossible to see the cork during your casts.
