Yep, this is very much a relaunched rebranded version of the original Mini 2, but now with C0 label. It is based on the old Mini 2 SE which was 2.7k and 40 Mb/s bitrate, but ultimately, I guess DJI are just marketing this to absolute beginners and dropping the price to the very bare minimum. Bottom line, £269 for a 4K drone ain't bad.....
Please tell me you can fly it on the DJI RC or RC2
Is it the same camera specs as the Mini2?
Bottom line, £269 for a 4K drone ain't bad.....that you can take to the beach, fly in your back garden and in most parks around the country without being fined or having to sit any on line tests. That for me is the USP of the Mini line - slap on your CAA op ID, keep away from airports and prisons and you can fly it in far more places than any drone weighing more than 250g.
I just spent £269 on a second hand Mini 2 with 3 charge cycles from MPB....I wished I'd know about this 4 weeks ago, I would have waited!
This is just the original Mini 2 renamed, i am happy that DJI have relaunched this drone and aimed at the beginner, having no obstacle avoidance sensors like on the 3&4 pro drones means the flyer will have to learn how to fly better and not rely on said sensors! I loved my Mini 2 but i wanted longer flight times and better camera so bought the standard Mini 3.
I’m having a flashback to when I first got my Mini 2 in lockdown. Used to watch your early videos to learn an understand. Excellent as usual Ian. Still love my Mini 2 too.
Excellent video, Ian! Way back, when I knew nothing about drones, and my wife said "buy a drone for our farm", this is the information I would have needed to purchase a top of the line beginner drone. Luckily, I have two Mini 2 drones as back-up to my Mini 4 Pro, and they are still an excellent choice to fly.

I bought the mini 2 in 2020 …..it’s a beast and if you’re looking to get into the drone hobby this new mini 4k (mini 2 ) is your best bet …handles the wind great ..long range ( 3miles 😮) and a fantastic camera ../the only thing it’s lacking and really don’t need I’d obstacle avoidance…I good drone pilot learns not to rely on OB ____

No, you're spot on. This is indeed a new name for the original Mini 2. Id been looking so much on the old 2 SE specs, forgot about the original 2 being 4K... Defo my bad and now pinned a comment mentioning this. 👍🏻

Great introduction to an important new drone - but you can't get away with recommending a Sandisk card in the description (incidentally, my preferred brand) and showing a Lexar one on the desk - LOL...
Ha! I use both and they never fail me. SanDisk was out of stock last time I got one... 10 /10 for spotting 👍🏻🤠
The biggest improvement and the best in my opinion is the 4k 100mbps, added bonus is 2.7k 60 fps 👌

Original Mini 2, yes, although now has the C0 label for EU counties.
Interesting it is priced exactly the same as the Potensic Atom 4K 3-Axis Gimbal. I presume they were losing sales to Potensic. It would be good to see a comparison between the two.
I bought this little drone and the same day returned it. Great price and nice little drone.
I need RID and this drone doesn’t have RID and wasn’t going to get jacked to pay up to $250 bucks to stick one on the drone it had to go back. Maybe, I’ll get the 4 Pro on a deal on Cyber Monday and it will be worth it?

Original Mini 2, yes, although they stopped selling that and supporting it. So I guess they just wanted to focus a rebrand straight to absolute beginners. 👍🏻

Interesting as always Ian. I'm still very much flying my Mini 2 original as it let's me do something that neither of the later Mini series can do, shoot 180 degree panoramas with variable exposure and three shot AEB using Litchi. I'm now wondering if you can use Litchi with this one? My current Mini 2 has well over 100 logged flying hours on it and nothing lasts forever!
Was hoping it would have O4. Still, be easy to get spare batteries for my mini 2. Was worried their unavailability was going to be the thing that made it a shelf ornament.

All these review channels conveniently forget the original Mini 2 and only mention the lower spec'd Mini 2SE.
The Mini 2 was the drone that made most of these channels popular. Mini 4K is just a rebrand, probably to include remote id.
Strange that DJI don't even have it on their own website.

I am very tempted to get this unit as I have wanted a drone for years. I do want to know the legal stuff as well to make sure I comply from day 1. Do you have a video about this related to specifically the UK.

This Mini "new" Mini 4K appears to be a Mini 2 in just about every respect. only difference I can see from the Amazon listing is the absence of the nose LED and the controller is "N1C" rather than the mini 2's "N1" controller.
I make this the fifth version of the classic DJI Mini airframe...

Excellent drone if you have other expensive DJI drones but you want to get some video where you might be too cautious to fly your more expensive drones. This also kind of shows us how much DJI are ripping us all off for their other main stream offerings

I'm a bit confused with this dji release. I don't get it. Sorry to sound negative. I don't mean to be. Its a mini 2 its a really old design for years ago! I'm just struggling with this one 😅
I wouldn't try and read too much into it. It's an upgraded Mini 2 SE with a 4K sensor. Aimed specifically at beginners and easily the cheapest 4K drone DJI have ever produced 👍🏻👍🏻

Pretty much the same as the original Mini 2, but more than the 2SE. It now has slight changes to allow it its C0 label....

Mini 2, 4k, why not buy a second hand mini2 ?, Dji did the same with the phantom was it 7 different models (I bought phantom 1 trust me you learned to fly, and I waited and bought mini 2, very happy, no need for upgrade I am a hobby guy.

No, And I think I need to put a little short out explaining why everyone is referring to the 2 SE but not the original 2. Bottom line, is we get sent comparative specs, and the specs listed the 4k, the 2 SE, and the Mini 4 Pro. And in truth, there have been so many iterations of the mini, I clean forgot that the 2 SE was not the original 2. Nothing more nothing less!

Sorry but if it doesn't have omnidirectional sensory system, it's not really for beginners.This drone as is and omnidirectional sensory system is what's right for beginners.If that system is going to drive up the price by A LOT, then how about installing a 1080p 30 or 60 fps camera instead, to balance it better?
This isn't right in my opinion.All it takes is a single mistake and bye bye.Wait for weeks for the replacement to come, unless you're lucky and nothing happened.
Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but maybe it's because I learnt to fly on the old Phantom 3 that had no obstacle avoidance and was very unforgiving if it crashed. I quickly got into the habit of flying up high well over trees and obstacles and I still kind of recommend that route for beginners 👍🏻👍🏻
Same but I was a bit luckier.My first drone was (still is) the Air2s which has sensors like most drones these days, and I crashed it in a very bad way, thinking it was like a game.Got the replacement a month later, and now for more than a year, I'm being way too careful, and as a rule...NEVER turn On Sport mode at less than 50m.That was my undoing and I learned that lesson the HARD way.
About tired of buying.

Yep; I'll take that. I was focused on the SE because you can't get the original 2 any more, but this is now very much aimed at total beginners after a super low priced new 4k drone. 👍🏻
A beginner drone? IMHO the target customers would have been better off getting obstacle avoidance than a vastly over-specced camera.....
Maybe because I learned on the old Phantom 3, I just never trusted obstacle avoidance when it came in later.... Stay high and it's no problem 🤠
