Of course you need an LLC and liability insurance, but proving that someone got sick from your food is incredibly difficult. What's not so hard to prove is when you counter sue for all the damages incurred for baseless claims 🤯
Florida has one of the most friendly cottage food laws in the country, not surprising. Look up Florida cottage food laws. Almost every baked good can be sold at home: no sales tax, no license no inspection, up to a quarter million in sales per year before you need to do anything. So long as the food is made in your home for takeout. And it's cupcake brownies, you're good. My business which is in the very beginning stages, before I did anything, I purchased a 1 million dollar general liability policy. And I obtained an LLC. I also chose to have a professional logo done versus rent a logo. It's all tax deductible. I wouldn't even think of going into business without those two things things. This is an excellent video.
I’m based out of Melbourne, FL myself! Ive been doing research on these many topics. Where did you purchased your general liability policy through? I’m thinking about selling baked goods from home.
@@grow4profit unless it's changed, Texas cottage food law specifies food that can be homemade & sold. Tacos ain't one of them. It's picky. Nothing that can make people sick. If you sell baked goods, which is generally ok, you can fill them with commercially made jam, but not homemade, for example.
