Can attest to that. I’ve been a regular at a local pizza restaurant since I was a kid that they add a little something for free whenever I order and during deliveries, we give the delivery guy surplus fruits or vegetables from our garden.

I've only ever been to a Wendys in Japan (don't have them where i'm from) but i didn't know you could get spaghetti at them eihter
At our McDonald's we have spaghetti too. I'm not a super big fan of it because it's sweet, though not as sweet as the local spaghetti recipes lol.
The fact that Botan constantly goes to that McDonald's outlet to order apple pies every time, reminded me of this movie, "Ghost in The Shell 2: Innocence". There was this part of the movie where Batou, investigating a criminal conspiracy, was warned by Togusa that he should not making a habit of going to a store every time, lest he gets outed by whoever that is trying to attack him. Turns out, the bad guys already knew the time, route and location of the store he frequents to.
So I am quite worried Botan would face a dedicated extremist.
But how else was Batou supposed to get his cute dog some wet dog food?

During my college days, i befriended every store i regularly buy from and they would leave stuff out i constantly buy
gotta say that really makes you feel special. place next to my old job had good breakfast and I ordered the same thing every time. They would just tell me to go to my seat and my breakfast burrito would be brought out without me even asking.

I used to go to a coffee shop with my dad that would do that for us, which was cool but there were moments where i wanted to order something else and they would have the usual already served waiting for us. Example: I would usually ask for a bottle of chocolate milk and they would have it open and ready as soon we would walk in, so if i wanted something else, it would be impossible for them to re sell the bottle. 😅

Once I worked at a place near this teriyaki joint, and whenever I picked up lunch there, I got the same order, same customizations, every time. Eventually it got to the point where the counter girl would see me coming up the sidewalk through the glass front door and put my order in for me before I even walked in
Same with me, but in my nearest Dunkin' Donuts.
I'd also take McDonald's apple pie than authentic apple pie anytime...

I had a similar experience, I was so well known in the restaurant that I never had to say anything and would prepare my usual order, now in a different one they recognize me by my voice since I order by phone. SO yeah I can totally relate on Botan's experience on that one hahaha
The local BBQ place knows when I walk in that I'm getting a pulled pork sandwich and a plate of jalapeno and cheddar sausages. They've yet to memorize my sides, but I'm sure it won't be much longer. The sub place next door knows me by name.

Kinda funny how Mcdonald's is such a massive corporate entity, but every individual location has such a strong human element about it, and relationships do get formed between employees and specific customers. Nothing major but it's gotta feel nice for Botan to be important to the workers.

I have a place near me that's the same. I go there so often that i don't even say what i want. They just put the bag on the table and i pay with my contactless, we both nod and go about our way. The interaction must be so weird for other customers. :))

yeah i remember doing this for recurring customers back when i used to work at mcdonalds. probably had like 6 or 7 people i would remember their orders for.
There’s a Taco Bell 2 minutes up the street from where I live and I always order chipotle chicken melts and nothing else from that location 😂 one of the employees recognized me at my repair shop and asked if he could pay me in chipotle chicken melts to fix his phone!
