Love how you talk through the startup sequence, I like hearing what goes on rather than watching someone just click switches, push buttons, and turn knobs
All private pilots should aspire to this level of professionalism, courtesy and skill. My hat's off to you sir.
I love how you always show a full engine start with commentary
Got my private ticket in 1986 and did a lot of VFR flying for 15 years including many hours with an IFR rated friend. Time to get my IFR ticket. Looks like I have a lot learn. Thanks for your awesome videos you are a pleasure to watch.
Steveo. Glad to see you back workin' hard on this short, busy hop. Interesting. Need to do some repositioning and closeup camera adjustment on those right hand panel instruments, especially when flying into the sun. We couldn't see them very well most of time, but great of you to feature them for us. Keep it up. Thanks for the video!
IMPRESSIVE....VERY IMPRESSIVE. One of the best flight training videos I've ever seen. Shows the staccato thinking and talking required to be safe in the air. Also shows potential pilots what they're "getting into" BEFORE they even climb into an airplane. (an ex military pilot who wishes he had seen your video...50 years ago!)
Best pilot video ever! Hands down. Everything is explained in clear voice. Thank you.
Another great video, detailed and so illustrative of the challenges in a short flight in busy airspace. And to narrate at the same time makes the presentation even more impressive. On a 30 inch HD monitor, it's almost like being in the other seat
Hey Steve, thanks for walking us thru the startup process.
Very busy indeed. Nicely done Steveo. Thumbs Up to you, and thank you for sharing your day.!
Always great content. I was watching Back before I went Commercial and now I still keep coming back to watch. Cant believe I went from student to captain watching you. You inspired me to fly what I love instead of running to the airlines immediately. I’m still flying a 1900D and loving it...
This was awesome! Brings back memories of IFR training where we’d take off and just about immediately start flying an approach into another field. Hard work, stressful, but SO rewarding.
Steveo - This was probably the best primer I've ever seen for explaining the complexities of single-pilot IFR. Yes - you had your hands full. But Yes - you did everything calmly and professionally. Great Job!
Thanks for saying what switches you were flipping on start up! I've always been curious. Keep up the great work!
Great video. I haven't flown IFR in many years but this makes me want to get back into the instrument training. I am very impressed how you can fly the flight single pilot and still giving us a great narrative of how it's done. Thanks for posting this video.
I would give my grapes to have fun like this again---I flew when I was in the Marine Corps while stationed in Hawaii---I miss this like you wouldn't believe!
Another great flight, always a pleasure to watch, you make single pilot IFR flying in a quick aircraft look easy. Keep em coming.
Enjoyed that as ever Steve - love watching flying in your neck of the woods, I flew into Clearwater Exec once in a PA28 and this brought back great memories! Thanks for posting as ever....TMF
The best way to describe a single pilot fight is a conductor of an orchestra is directing and playing an instrument at the same time. Of course you make it look easy and sound good.
Great video! I am a Colorado VFR private pilot who likes to play in the Tampa/St Pete locality in X-Plane a lot. Your video is helpful in understanding the tempo of ATC activity while flying here.
Great video man. Especially appreciated you narrating what buttons and switches you were toggling during start-up and shutdown. 👍
Well-shown, how busy it can get! I felt myself getting overwhelmed. Good learning experience for new IFR students. Thanks
Steve... Thanks a Million for what you do.. You're very patient and descriptive at every single point of pre-flight, Flight and even after Landing.. Really keeps us engaged and learning. Much appreciated more than you know... All the Best
Great videos Steveo. I always enjoy watching your videos. I'm currently working on my instrument rating and you are helping me tremendously with that! You break it down like none other by making sense of it all. When copying IFR clearances, I use your flow which makes me sound like a pro and definitely boosts my confidence. Keep up the amazing work!
I remember sun & fun when I was a youngster . My step dad had a 2 seater champ from the 40's.That was the funnest time I ever had in a plane.
New subscriber here, first video..Tampa/Brandon resident and native...only flown a few times in my life, first time was at age 16 out of Plant City with a buddy taking a lesson..in a small 4 seater Cessna ..You make it look easy..like you have many years of experience !
Enjoy many of your videos. Years ago had passed solo in warrior 2 and flew some in Cessna 172. Getting to old and it cost too much for flying but I did love it. Thanks for posting your flights. PS My mom flew piper cubs in the 40's. I took her up a couple of times with instructor and she loved it.
I enjoy the way everyone works very well with each other in a "just the facts please," manner. Very Professional and reassuring.
Thanks so much for explaining your start, after-start and shutdown flows Steveo!!
Great video Steve, was down in the Doral/Medley areas doing my delivery and pickup on 2/14. Now I’m back up in Illinois in the cold and snow, keep up the great work. I’m hoping sometime this year I can start taking lessons, you Flightchops, Aviation101, Baron Pilot and LewDix have got me wanting to get out from behind the simulator (which I fly whenever I get home) and start the real thing. Fly safe and can’t wait for the next one.
One of your very best videos steveo!! Thanks for letting us ride along 💪🏼
Great VLOG again, you always teach me something new every time, and good habits to adopt. Thanks
I’m new to your channel. Long time aviation enthusiast, but not a pilot. I’m always impressed with your abilities. Talk about multi-tasking! Makes my head spin. I’ll be watching...stay safe.
Beatiful airplane, nice flight. You got a nice gig there, Steveo. Clear skies to you!
Videos are already great, but each one gets even better! Thank you for keeping the good content coming. Watching your videos is making me want to get back into flying and potentially go to flight school for my second career after retirement soon from the Air Force.
very interesting and busy for a single pilot i used to fly with my grampsout of small airports and watching this fella he has it under control in a very nice little prop plane enjoyable video like the flight isnt complicated enoughsteve is still keeping the viewer informed
Fantastic video. First time I've seen an IFR flight between two Class B airports, with a single pilot aboard. Man they had you humping changing headings and frequencies. The approach to St. Pete was amazing with all the heading changes, in an out of the soup. Enjoyed every moment and will watch it again. I have seen three of your videos, especially the ones with the delightful female pilots aboard in the Cessna 206. Wow, what a lucky man he is. Good job and keep the videos coming. Gary
That was a great video Steveo!!! Although it was a short flight, I found it to be very informative! Single pilot IFR is truly no joke, you have a lot to manage. It was pretty cool seeing you go in and out of the clouds during the approach. It reminded me of my first ILS approach almost close to minimums into Pensecola!! It was pretty intense. Thanks again!!
Thanks for verbalizing the start up process Steveo...it's cool to know what each one is.
Another great video. Love the consistency of cockpit procedures. Really enjoyed the close ups of gages and dials at the beginning!! More of that.
Really enjoyed this flight, Steve, many thanks. Best wishes
Another great video. I always enjoy your flights. You remind me of my brother in his early years flying corporate. Keep ‘em coming and I’ll keep watching. Thanks
Awesome video, Steve! Lots of good stuff in here for folks working on IFR.
Nice video Steve-o, I'm currently in Instrument ground school at my University, so your videos are a nice training tool to learn comms and clearances. Keep it up man!
Wow! Loved that "Spirit in the Sky" opening. Well edited and exciting. Got me primed for the "mission!"
Steve really enjoyed seeing the USCG HU-16 and the C-130. As a retired Coastie that was GREAT to see!
Love listing to great radio communication . Great video
Clever, Steve as steve. Been following for a long time and I think you are in a rush, flying an aircraft with speed and power that is not needed or welcomed on a safe approach. Great job on showing how single pilot is 100% consumed. A good lesson for anyone flying or chartering. Charter or hire for two pilots...one of them is going to be more concerned about selfies.
First video of yours I’ve seen. I have had a Private Pilots License since 2005 but I haven’t flown in about 5 years. This is a wonderful video and makes me want to get back into Flying so bad and make a career out of it. I wish would have had a Pilot like you like instructing me. All the details you give out while flying brought back a lot knowledge to me. AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Spotted! What a cool moment for that guy on his solo to have you watching him!
Moreso to have it in the video and a conversation. I think that's pretty cool. He certainly called it right on the taxi out.
Excellent. Everything is very professionally done. Your explanation of every part of the flight makes us feel like we're flying with an instructor. From editing to spacing of B roll video is perfect. Cameras are perfectly placed also. Selection of music and placement is right on. Looking forward to your next video. Keep up the great work. Your channel, Premiere 1 Driver, and Aviation 101 are my favorites.
Great Video Steve! Thanks again for all you do.
Loved how you talked through the start up and shut down this time made it much more informative! Also i train out of KPIE loved the editing at the end you did a great job! Like always! Can’t wait to see you at Sun N Fun!!
You have gotten me as close as I'll ever come to flying a plane. I knew there was a lot to it but holy cow! Lots of respect headed your way.
I've been learning a lot with you ,thanks for your videos!
Another great video. As I'm sure you would do it even if you weren't recording these, I appreciate you talking through the various steps. I'm looking to start my IFR training in the upcoming months, and I find these videos very useful. It's videos like this that gave me the extra confidence for things like communication with ATC when I was working on my PPL. Thanks for doing them!
Mr. Steveo, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed your video. (Happened across it looking for a video of my granddaughter.) I'm 72 y/o, but "played with" the Mac Flight Sim (for fun) after I retired years ago. I was never very successful with the flight sim, but I remember enough to be TOTALLY IMPRESSED with your piloting skills. Your confidence, knowledge of your aircraft and procedures, and ability to focus on multiple tasks are amazing. Your age, red hair and cool confidence reminded me of my younger son... and when you pulled out the skateboard... you could have been my son! ;-) Best wishes for continued success in aviation! ~ Fred
I’m really impressed with his autopilot’s flying skills.
Busy flight handled professionally as always, great job steveo :) It always amazes me how you can concentrate on ATC instructions while captivating your audience :)
Learned to fly at SP Airworld back in 1980 , thanks for the ride along very nice.
That was worth watching...It just goes to show that sometimes you just have to have your ears and eyes open until you are on the ground. Great Vid. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This fascinates me. I am decidedly NOT a pilot, but have always loved aircaft and air travel. A lot of fun to watch as a pure "civilian"
Very Nice Trip ~ Way back to April 1985 I was 17 and down from Michigan staying with friends (St Pete Beach) while on spring break. Paramount Studios was in the area filming for the movie Summer Rental starring John Candy. Keeping this short I met him privately after filming was finished for the day. Our location was on the beach and a mile or so south of the Don CeSar Hotel. Candy's temperment and personality was exactly like the characters he played in most movies. He had a very big heart. Great Man and Great Actor.
excellent flying and commentary - THANKS STEVEO!
your radio skills are next level my man. great B roll too
Nice short IFR flight in home town. See you at Sun & Fun in April
Great video. Whenever we fly out of the Tampa Bay area it's on Allegiant. Also, I think I've driven past Executive Airport on I-75 a hundred times. In fact, I remember when they were constructing the 05 runway. Thanks!
appreciated your calling all the power switches in your powerup.
Sounded like he was starting a spaceship LMAO
Good show. Liked the comms with ATC. Pretty clear. Thanks.
Another great video Steve, always look forward to the next one. I fly a Cirrus out of Springbank in Calgary...one day I want to fly it down to Florida to escape out winters up here!
"...I'm having fun flying around in the clouds." Priceless! (18:15)
As a semi experienced corporate pilot, I can say you do a great job with the vids.
Always puts a smile on my face to see The Trop from the air. Thanks Steveo
WOW! Perfect in every way!!! Thank you for the ride.
awsome flight stevo, enjoy everything you do.
That was cool seeing the interaction with the fan/new pilot. Love your content style.
Always great to watch a highly competent professional aviator in action.
Great video Steveo...I love watching your video for improving my cockpit resource management! Plus I not-so-secretly love the TBM...
I like your videos. You're a lot more personable than most of the other guys doing these kind of vids.
Great Flight Steve, I enjoyed your video.... brought me back a lot of good memories ....
Enjoyed the ILS description thanks.
That apparently is how it's done. Great clip!
Always thanks for your video.
I love TBM850. Your video is always help and pleasure to me.
Loved the talk through of the start up and shutdown! Good to know what's what.
Lots going on at once. Pucker factor 9.
Great video!!
My home Airport! Did all my training at PIE with ATP.
Great vid. Coml, Inst ME with 500 hours here. 70 years old and haven't flown a bird in 25 years. Thanks for the ride along. The gear has changed but the procedures still hum along.
I live in Tampa so I recognized all the spots. I'm exhausted just watching the video! "High workload for single pilot"? You betcha.
Excellent video, it is very inspiring and informational for me as an aspiring pilot in training.
I haven't flown for years. I sure miss it. I just flew 172's but was a great escape.
Very nice. Loved seeing that first landing. I just did an interview and COMPASS exam for Republic's in-house flight school a couple of days ago, Itching to get my pilot career started. Maybe after the contract with Republic is up I'll get to fly turboprops to the bahamas too! Haha, I can dream
Well Done Capt... Nice Ride ';-) Thanks
What a busy flight ,thanks for sharing.
My Grandpa was with the FAA ATC. . Man what a hard and stressful job that would be. I really liked this video as well. Thanks for sharing.
I think that's my favourite video of yours Steveo and I've been following you for years.
I'm a A&P for allegiant at KPIE I was at work the other night and I saw a tbm parked I was hoping it was your bird.. Keep up the great footage hope to meet you one day.
Really enjoyed the video Steveo. Your explanations are very interesting. Just like flying right seat.
I think it was very cool that you talked with the gentleman on his first supervised solo and him being a big fan of yours. I actually went to school National Aviation Academy right next to Signature there at p i e and my family owned a hangar at pie over at The Landings on the other side of the airport flew out of there most of my life I got my ticket and did my first solo out of Albert Whitted and know that congested airspace very well
Really like these type flights and all the verbal instructions.
I used to fly out of this Airport during my PPL training when the FBO was called Leading Edge Aviation and the airport was called Vandenburg. I miss those days. Excellent little airport. Piper Cherokee 18PE was my ride!!!! Then I switched to KPIE to do my instrument rating at CAMS. But I kept loosing instuctors to Airlines and other jobs, then CAMS went out of business and I ran out of money.....didnt finish my rating though I wish I did. I flew the Cherokee 330FT out of KPIE. Cherokees were always my favorite ride!!!
I never realized how great the workload that you have on single pilot IFR. You are the true professional who can give the rest of us a great ride, wonderful views and a step by step technical walk thru. Thank you so much for your great effort.
He's a great IP but he also flies beautifully equipped airplanes. Do the same thing in a typical SEL.
The speed of the TBM makes the workload higher, though the high end AP and good avionics help. In a slower plane, you have lots of time to set up for these things.
@@N1120A To be fair, they had him going 150 knots for forever, so he kinda was "in a slower plane" for this flight!
