3 days before I have lost my beloved cat and I cried a lot. He is still missing and it's a difficult situation for me but not more than Ibrahim A.S. May be there are many people in the world who are facing even more kind of difficulties in their lives.
But One thing if you make a dua in your difficult time and trust Allah. Then there is no doubt that Allah is not gonna listen to you. Allah is there for you testing you so that HE can make you even more closer to Him.
Also this life is going to end and your difficulties will also. You are going to return to him one day and you know that. Then just live your life according to him and submit yourself.
May Allah ease your difficulties and may Allah accept your efforts you do for him only.

Ustadth Nouman! A famous educator once said that the purpose of Allah testing Ibrahim in sacrificing his own child, was to break the custom of sacrificing children for the sake of the Gods.
This was an old custom, and Ibrahim was the first to break it.
In order for something to be remembered, talk is not enough. So Allah planned this playout for people to remember years and years to come.

We slaughter on Eid Al adha in the tradition of the prophet and distribute to the poor. Allah created certain animals for us, that we can eat if we want. He prohibited others. There is a manner of slaughtering. When Muslims slaughter an animal the animal is at peace. It’s not like nonzabihah which is inhumane. You can eat fruit and veggies and fish too. Allah commanded Ibrahim A.S. To slaughter his son as a test. Just like the sheikh said. Prophet Abraham was one of the greatest prophets of Islam.

I read another perspective regarding why Ibrahim a.s was tested with having to kill Ismail a.s.
Each of us is Ibrahim. Ibrahim has ''Ismail'' and so do we.
Our ''Ismail'' may be wealth or position or title or something or someone that you care about.
Ibrahim was not ordered by Allah to kill Ismail.
Allah ordered him to kill the sense of ownership or possesiveness.
Because ultimately, everything and everyone belongs to Allah swt.
So Allah tested our loyalty, whether we can let it go and follow Allah's order no matter what.
Disclaimer: Just sharing an opinion on what made me kinda understand what Eidul Adha is about.
