From growing up in South London to the multiple unsuccessful trials and plans to give up playing, I signed my first professional contract with Crystal Palace a few months before my 22nd birthday. In 1991 I signed for Arsenal Football Club where I scored 185 goals in 288 appearances. I went on to play 581 league games, scoring 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland, earning 33 caps for the English national team.
I am now fortunate enough to have a football broadcast career working for the BBC & ITV.
Some Career Achievements:

117 goals in 253 starts for Crystal Palace (leading post war goal scorer)

We all can doubt David and his football abilities nowadays, but the thing we should never doubt is his professionalism, passion, the fact he always supports young players and all-around, he is a great person. I genuinely believe he is a very important for the dressing room and it would be nice to have him as a part of coaching staff one day. Great video, Wrighty! Take care, man!
He has been our best defender this season. His football abilities are great still, he made like 3 mistakes at the start of the season. He has been solid
@@benjaminlundback8394 People slate him because they go back to a few mistakes here or there--but he's one of the best on-the-ball defenders in the world, and he's amazingly versatile as well. I think after he settled into the team at Arsenal he improved the side a lot. Arteta will use him well I think.
Everyone gives me critism for rating luiz....theres a mistake in him i know...but on the ball he is quality and under arteta he has been solid.ive always said he has needed a demanding cb next to him.but honestly for me he's been arsenals best defender.great to have in the dressing room and you cant doubt his professionalism

Luiz is very underappreciated as a footballer. He is not an out and out defender but with right defensive organisation around him is more exciting and enjoyable to watch than any other defender in EPL.

All the way down under. Absolutely loved the way david spoke wrighty. He's maybe the bargain of the summer. I understand he's not the marque people wanted. But we needed a senior leader and I think he's part of what arsenal needed. Mikel is demanding ownership an responsibility for what ever formation their opponents play. And it sounds like a David is the employee ready to take the risk, step up , change and adapt to what the boss asks of you just like all of us in our daily lives and jobs. He's teaching and setting examples of respect to your manager to the young lads but also sometimes you have to have balls to to go for it change it get out of thr comfort zone. Club first individual second. Always.. these are the players we want.
