I'm always looking to try new mics - and now I'm working on a Bob Marley's early stuff (with Lee Perry's Upsetters & The Wailers) 'Style Project' with lots of live percussion - it seems from what I can find out Perry used an original AKG D12 dynamic for lead vocals - but when you get to Burnin' and Natty Dread they used a U67 for lead and U87 for BV's - until such time as I can spring for a WA67 (I do have the WA47, full fat!) I'm planning to use a Senny MD441 for my scratch vocals - and who knows that might be all I need in this room ;-) Great video as always Warren
They both sound pretty amazing! Thanks! From cloudy, warming up & still relatively locked down Ireland! ☘️☮️🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮️☘️
Sonny! Thanks for watching brother✌🏾
I can definitely hear the Neve adding weight and body that I did not hear with the warm or the focusrite. All three are great preamps.
thanks for watching
The Warm Audio built in EQ version can probably add more bass with the specific settings
Love the sound of the wa-87 into the focusrite RED. On an RnB mix it'll sound amazing!
Agreed! Thanks for watching✌🏽
@@WarrenHenry Cheers thanks for sharing

Amazing sound
Thanks for watching 🙏🏽✌🏽
NICE
Thanks
The WA67 seems to have a slightly fatter tone than the WA87. Maybe the WA67 will sound better on slow ballads while the WA87 on more upbeat songs. But it's just a loose speculation guess.
It is a bit more heavy in the lower mids which would make it great for male vox. But what I've found is using the WA73-EQ or an equalizer plugin you can restore some of the upper mids which is what makes the U67 an absolute beast on most sources. For $899 you can't go wrong. You can have a superior home recording vocal chain with the WA67, WA76 and the WA73-EQ for about 1/2 the cost of the Neumann. Thanks for watching and participating in the discussion✌🏾
