- GAC Motor is one of the largest carmakers in China, and has the most number of joint venture partners, counting 5 as of this filming. GAC Motors manufacture Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Fiat in Mainland China. While some of their offerings look similar to the vehicles from these Japanese carmakers, the good news there is the build quality is also the same. In this car talk, we take a look at five facts about GAC Motor and see if it is a good carmaker. GAC makes the GAC GS8, a large SUV that looks like the Toyota Land Cruiser, the GAC GM8, a minivan that is more luxurious than the Toyota Alphard, the GAC GN8, an MPV meant to take on the Toyota Innova, and the GAC GA4, a compact sedan as big as a Toyota Camry but is priced like a Toyota Vios.

Not to mention that the GAC GA4 they drove sa Kalayaan 12H Endurance is stock lang, no mechanical failures and had the slower engine. Imagine hitting 2nd place podium against the first place, a Mazda Miata MX5 haha. They made up for it with their fuel efficient engine and durable chassis and parts. And oh, they finished 1st last 2019. Shows how consistent and reliable they are. All they need now is a broader number of distributors in the country and yes, more social media and marketing. I was leaning towards Geely and Chery, but GAC is making me rethink. Thanks for the info, bro Reygan.

I really like the GS8 and GN6. The GS4, GS3, and Empow are also really nice.
At first, I was planning to purchase the Chery T8P but it made me rethink because the build quality of T8P is not solid. The leather is synthetic, the interior is a bit small, the suspension is not so good although it's not bad either, and the sound system is average. When I saw the outgoing model of GS8, I immediately snatched 1 copy because of the solid build, good interior looks, the seats are genuine leather, the suspension is fantastic, the interior space big, the sound system good, the handling nice and a big discount due to outgoing model. I like the exterior looks almost resemble like Land Cruiser and the front fascia looks elegant. I have no doubt about its durability and it always put a smile on my face every time I drive the car.
I'll be upgrading to a 7-seater fam vehicle & taking a good look at the GS8 since I've seen a couple in person here in the province. Now it's pretty clear to me that it's reliable & of top notch quality but my main concern is, how about the aftersales services, parts availability, warranty & how well trained and good performing their mechanics are?
I visited Dubai dealer “Gargash” today and taken all the details of Gs8 from the sales person. Had a visual look and i loved the options.
The amount you pay for this GS8 and options you get from it i say its Super.
Miles better to pay for this car rather paying for Toyota Prado or other Suvs.
No toyota , Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Nissan can give you luxury or options like this which this car is giving in this price trust me.

i admire your passion to educate filipinos from their ignorance. Frankly speaking i really don't see the point of convincing more and more people to buy China cars coz I think everything happens for a reason. some people buy overpriced cars mainly to satisfy their fears and questions of reliability in the expense of creature comforts, tech, spending more and convenience. I personally have seen everything.. Like on how the new veloz and avanza could not climb a 30degree incline on a complete stop with full seating capacity (as tested several times by indonesian vloggers).. But it's toyota and people who were ignorant to this issue still bought them units. It's ignorance that devides people really. and thanks to that Japanese car makers still have sales. But as someone who knows a lot about cars with a background in automotive repairs and maintenance, i really don't see any reason to fear china cars given that you have your warranty naman and it's not like your car engine will suddenly explode since it's made in china. People buy very expensive iphone or electronics with only 1 year warranty and I don't hear any complaints or concerns of reliability. kontento nman sa 1 year warranty..but a car giving 5 years warranty some even 10 years and yet the one thing in their mind is still reliability concerns?? it's beyond me..pathetic really. the issue isn't the cars..it's the ignorance to car technology, it's parts, and it's inner workings. Maybe Filipinos should try to know more! I see 30+ year old pickups still being used by guys who know how to keep them alive..and yet the average ignorant Filipino has nothing but reliability concerns on their mind whenever we speak of cars? newsflash! CARS ARE IMMORTAL. So again sir kudos to you really for trying to enligthen the ignorant Filipinos but time will tell really. Chinese cars are really the future and I hope their affordability stays the same.
One of the best comments i read so far. It is hard to open the eyes of those who simply dont want to open them. Let them enjoy in riding in their semi teucks instead SUV, and with equipment which has been used decade ago. For some badge is important, for me is comfort and convenience. For those who keep talking about reliability i have a message - dont buy a car if you can not maintain it. No car will be reliable if you will go to street mechanics from the friend who has a friend. If you keep regular maintenance on schedule in authorized dealers and services, you dont need to worry. They would not give warranty of 10 years if they would think that every second engine will malfunction. If there would not be chinese cars here on market, those "badge obssessed" people would still drive innova with design from 15 years ago

They make their own engines.
Why transmission not dual clutch?
We have the gs8 4x4 model. Airbag fault since 2019. Its never fixed.

Problems with new brand of vehicles, is the availability of parts in the country. Meaning you can only get it from exclusive dealership where you know price would be much compared to local OEM dealer of the likes Toyota, hino, Isuzu nad others
